wow....june is really a surprising month for new hd channels!!! =D ..but the rm10/ month recording thing.... a bit of a ripoff la...

Tivo customers pay US$13 a month; if you buy the lifetime product warranty (Tivo + service) which averages US$7 month.

QUOTE(minimize @ May 31 2010, 11:09 PM)
No monthly fee for MAX before and why right now Asstro want charge us RM10/month for PVR function. This totally unacceptable.
Astro should give PVR function for free to their loyalty customer that already subscribe more than 2 years.
*

I don't think this is going to happen, or at the very least, it will come at a cost to functionality - say for the free service, you can't do advance programming.

For RM10, Astro had better nail this PVR service right out of the park. Tivo had set the standard so we better get Tivo-quality service from the start. Things like programming via internet [ALL], built-in WiFi for the B.yond PVR, an e-SATA port at the back for HDD extension, fast search function [ALL], PVR-to-PC file transfer (copy) [ALL], and PC playback of recorded content [ALL].

Personally I think Astro should let everybody connect whatever external HDD they want so long as it has enough space. If they are asking B.yond subscribers to go the WD AV HDD route, they better ensure that those drives work flawlessly.

But dxjb is right. Everyone calm down. I know it's hard to with the recording functionality and news of more channels but be calm. We'll know for sure tomorrow.

Hi everyone ,

I was wondering whether the Astro Byond can be use with the Dell U2311h monitor ? The U2311h doesn't have a HDMI port. However, according to Dell website it does support HDCP via the DVI port as well as 1080i resolution. Here is the docs on Dell US website. Dell U2311h

So, if I use a HDMI to DVI adapter from the Astro Byond decoder to the monitor it should work right ? Thanks for any help smile.gif

WOW!!! MORE HD Channels... well Im pretty excited over the "Rumors"

but.. it is ASTRO... never trust them 100%

but they should actually add more HD channels.. cos they do have a target I think... 10 channel before end of the year rite??

so 3-4 HD channels wont hurt... actually give them some more time to actually finalize the remaining HD channel.. or finalizing a local HD channel... who knows...

lets just hope and pray that everything will go as the way we want it... biggrin.gif

i saw the ad too. 5 channels: fox hd, fox crime hd, star wld hd, star movies hd and fx hd. but at the end of the ad, it mentioned sumtin about fox internationals network, so, it may relate to star, not astro cry.gif
if it is slipped off, im sure it was sumtin intended vmad.gif
