For plasma tv, how long is the time we can watch in 1 channel., eg., Astro HBO or Star Movie without getting burn-in mark?
*
It also depends on how high you set the contrast to be, typically it's not really an issue now as the logo won't stay during commercials and the logo is kinda pixelated so it isn't really the same image all the while

For movie channels, the logo is there for hours. I notice HBO and Star Movie logos are there premanently. Moreoever, a movie can last upto 2 or 3 hrs plus. Wouldn't it be an issue?

HOW TO CHECK HOURS CLOCKED  (V-series)

(1) Hold down "V-" on the TV (not remote) whilst simultaneously pressing "RECALL" on the remote three times.
(2) Press 2 to get to SRV-TOOL.
(3) Press OK to Enter.
(4) Using the direction buttons on your remote, navigate to last row at the bottom, then the right hand cell.
(5) Hold down "MUTE" for a few seconds and you should see the hours and minutes clocked so far.
(6) To exit, keep Exit/Return held down to reboot.

That sucks!

Possibilities:

- your TV remote control is faulty
- you have other remote controls/infrared source that could be interfering (unlikely)
- your TV is faulty

Maybe you can try to reseat the batteries in your remote control and see if that helps.

Otherwise, you'll probably need to collect on your warranty.

so much for japanese quality

if you watch this thread closely you're gonna catch quite a few forumer posting various problem with their set that ultimately required a warranty claim. it's been happening quite frequently even with the venerable v20

It's nothing to do with the remote, I did some Google and it's called the 'blinking lights of dead' LOL

For 50Hz, the black levels increase quite a bit. Same with 24p with Cinema Smooth on. If Cinema smooth is not on, then the panel refreshes at 60Hz. If u r sensitive u will notice judder for 24p material with Cinema smooth off. With it on, the black levels deteriorate. Its a trade off either way.

Hi anfield,

With ref to your recent post on "Samsung C6500 owners thread, Everything regarding C6500", I would like to know further abt this 50Hz issues:

Does these symptoms happen to Panny V20 as well? or is it better in black levels when the Cinema Smooth is on since the V20 has its Infinite Black feature to compensate the lost (black levels deteriorate) in comparison with c6500 (this model without the so-called Real Black Filter of Sammy)?

Thanks a lot.

The panny V20 does not hv elevated blacks for 50Hz material but does have some artefacting.
The cinema smooth function in sammy elevates black levels for 24p material.

Guys, my plasma will reach 200hrs today. What kind of settings that I should use (contrast, brightness, etc) after 200hrs onwards? I mainly use it for BD-rip(bkup) movies with my popcorn.

Slightly inferior specs to the S series technically speaking, if I remember correctly. There's still S20 series in some other countries but they did not bring that model into Malaysia. Probably bacause it will cannibalise into the V20 series (which is technically the G20 of the EUR specs). In 2009, most customers overwhelmingly preferred the S10 to the G10 series.
