I didn't check that out. Already done deal and what I can do is hope for the best  Anyway I still got 3 years warranty for it. Out of curiousity, how do I check out the number of hours used?

i want to buy plasma or lcd for my ps3. so far for value of money panasonic offer a great deal. 2100 can get 42 inch latest model with latest feature. but somehow as per sony warning label at the blue ray disc game said that ps3 gaming can cause burn image to plasma tv.. so... any recommendation for me any lcd tv ranging 2100 below that offer a great deal interm of features

Do you mean they've giving the 3 years extension free? Because if not, any shop selling the tv offers the 3 years for a price (they'll register it for you).

U're confused. If u r using the break in dvd, then crank up the contrast (say 80) and colour  (70). Leave brightness at default. Use normal mode. Make sure the colours fill the screen in full screen mode.

When u r not using the break in dvd, then use the settings that you mentioned, contrast -20, brightness -20, colour low...

After 200hrs u can move the contrast back to 50 in cinema mode and colour back to 47 or so. Of course u can change to ur liking or get it calibrated.

just bought my first 42" plasma TV, Panasonic TH-P42X28K. I tried to read every post over here but it's too long for me to finish it. I have no time (need to get TV cabinet ready, cables, etc) now as just can't wait to power up my TV when it arrives.

I know there is burn-in issue on plasma TV and most ppl recommend run-in the TV at the first 100 - 200 hours. But, looks like the method differs from ppl to ppl...

I don't have all the so called break-in slide, can i just open a movie then just let the TV operates day and night? Of course, with low contrast and low brightness setting (around 30% - 40%)... is this considered ok?
