But I see that the Tethering option is greyed out in the phone... how to do it then?
Do I need to connect to my PC via USB, then use the "Connect to PC" option? I haven't explored this option on my Legend yet..

it can work EVERYWHERE else... widgets..sms...etc..etc..

but why not in internet explorer? i even tried dolphin browser.. still cannot...

but other keyboards like CN THai and SlideIt have predictive text in the explorer.. why why???

greyed out? when u connect the phone by USB, u can check your phone status by pulling down the notification status, there is 4 options I cant remember in order so here goes

1. as a portable disk,
2. charge phone only,
3. share the internet connection
4. cant remember lol!!

just touch the share internet, wait abit and that sud do the trick..

My friend told me if not mistaken can also share things over the wifi network...have not played with it yet since not yet setup network, it sud be able to also connect to the net by wifi (correct me if I'm wrong)

U keep on pulling emails, weather updates and stuff? I disable the sync option and my mails i update it to every 2hours... from the battery usage its always the display that sucks up the most juice..

guys, check out legendroid forums for tips on extending batt life... i'm getting 12hrs from one charge, mid-heavy usage. If lesser usage and don't really play games, then maybe 16hrs.

in a way yeah can cancel screamyx but for me its like backup so no cancelation til uniFi reaches my area..

My battery life sucks cos my Gmail pushes all my mail as they arrive and Twitter is set to 15 mins. Used to leave GTalk on but gave up cos typing was just too slow!

Plus the surfing, I get abt 15 hours charge to charge. Need to give it some juice if I go out at night.

The latest from Rodriguezstyle MoDaCoMoD. Its really fast and stable.

Actually its on v2.1 now. Do you know if its possible for me to remove some apps like Lock 2.0? Can't uninstall it using Astro Manager and not quite sure how to uninstall using ADB.

i'm not sure how to remove those also

for lock 2.0, just flash the htc lockscreen he provided

I have tried v2.1 but I don't like it. The Market just force close every time I'm downloading an app. Plus the Sense is missing and that is one of the reason I get the Legend in the first place. I have reverted to stock rooted for the time being until next update.
It's fast anyways and the live wallpaper is cool!

Any rooting & backup instructions? Hmmm, I do love the Sense UI though.

Basically, here is what I did :

Install HTC Sync to your computer. You can use the installer from our SD card inside 'Tool' folder. (this will provide the USB drivers for the next steps).

1) Create a gold card.

you need to have the SD card adapter handy. quite tricky at some parts especially at setting up ADB. for an IT person, this should not be hard.

I was almost sure I was gonna get this phone in about a weeks time, the sexy looks plus super reviews make it a sure-fire choice for me. Plus the pricing is also alright.

Then, I saw the HTC Desire, which appears to be the Legend, but on steroids. True, the design is nowhere near as appealing but it outperforms the Legend in almost every way?

Hmm... dunno which to get now. Why would I choose the Legend over the Desire?

Maybe you guys, Legend owners can help me out?

Its on v2.2 now. I flashed it just now and lets just say I'm pretty satisfied with the result. ROM is uber-fast, LWP is very cool indeed and Market is working. You should try it!

Honestly if you have the money, go for Desire. Definitely beats the Legend on every single way, except for the design. I was going to buy the Desire but somehow I picked Legend over Desire. Well maybe because I didn't have an extra RM600. Lol. Either way, both phones are great and you won't be disappointed.

The only reason I was hesitating about was losing Sense (no pun intended). I really like how the Legend's People integrates with our social networking accounts.

If you are buying either at retail price, go for the Desire. I got Legend at 50% with Digi so the bang-for-buck value was high.
