Hey guys,

Is there any way to move back to previous screens without using the BACK button? Is there a set gesture or something?

Like a bit cacat la, go everywhere with screen but to reverse must click on the button.

Hi, I just received my new HTC Legend with signing DIGI smart plan. It is very weird that HTC Legend presents incoming call as "unknown" instead of phone number or contact name from my phonebook. Once I clicked the "unknown" it will go through "USSD Code running" after that will show me "unknown application". Need advice, thanks.
*
Having this same issue, phone numbers aren't being displayed even when the caller is already in my contacts list. I save my numbers using international format, i.e. +6016 123 4567, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Anybody experiencing this or anybody know how to sort this?

I think it might be in the Froyo release. HTC users, from past evidence, will need to be patient.

WTA something, with Froyo launching soon, will Legend get the upgrade?
Or need to buy new phone from HTC? TQ.
*
It's pretty certain Froyo will eventually roll out to the Legend but given the timeline, it is unlikely you will be able to buy a Froyo Legend anytime soon.

yeah..im kinda addicted to it to..maybe the smooth and nice interface..its so much different than my X1..
btw..anyone know how can we watch .avi video in this phone? i transfer some movie to it but i cant find it in the phone.thanks
*
Is is a Divx file? If it is, the Legend doesn't support it.

You'll need to convert to MP4 if you want to bring your movies along.

Hello Legend users. My housemate just brought home his HTC desire last nite. Quite torn between as they both have + and -
Thought that the 1GHz snapdragon would do the interface much justice but I noticed that the Desire lagged in a few instances. Haven't tried the Legend yet but how does it fare so far under normal usage?
oh and is it possible to put live wallpapers on the Legend?
*
I don't know about the rest, but I am sure I would not be pleased with the Desire's battery life.

As it is, I just about get through a day with the Legend on a single charge, something that I am unlikely to be able to do with a Desire given its more powerful processor and bigger screen.

But that's just me.

I think most Legend buyers go through the same agony--Legend or Desire. So you gotta ask yourself what you can live with and what you can live without.

Personally, having tested the Desire after the fact, I don't regret getting the Legend at all.

p.s. I was initially very reluctant to try the Desire for fear of immediately putting my Legend up for sale in Garage but I'm glad I did in the end wink.gif

Are you comparing apples with apples? GSM with GSM or GSM to 3G?

But remember not to do this too often. Casing Alu but the rest of the phone still glass and plastic!

when you get your casing, pls post the pic of htc legend.
The aluminium body looks nice by default. If the casing makes it ugly, then I'll skip it.
*
I just put the phone in an old Nokia E71 pouch, felt like wasting the Alu casing if I hid it behind a silicone cover.

Bonus is when I take the phone out, people try and figure out which Nokia it is! biggrin.gif

My battery life sucks cos my Gmail pushes all my mail as they arrive and Twitter is set to 15 mins. Used to leave GTalk on but gave up cos typing was just too slow!

Plus the surfing, I get abt 15 hours charge to charge. Need to give it some juice if I go out at night.

i read somewhere stating htc will release froyo for htc handsets release these year by around 2nd quarter of 2010. but dont know how true is that?
damn always the google phone get those update first lol...the advantage of being google phone...
*
Can't possibly be Q2, there's just a week left in the quarter!

Going by how quickly they rolled out Hero Eclair, I think sometime before Gingerbread comes out in November is about the most plausible.

yeahhh really hope not.. but if you look at the situation now compare the hero, its kindda different right? There's desire , evo 4G and legend to update so maybe HTC wont be sluggish at updating? wildfire too..  hmm.gif
*
HTC sounded non-commital to my ears, but I'm hoping that's just cos I'm cynical!

Anyway, at least the Legend's already rooted so there's always the option of custom ROMs.

you guys know , desire just 100 bucks more than Legend? wtf..
*
Legend price was always going to be close to the Desire, which is why so many have such a hard time choosing.

have you ever experienced that when your reminder is triggered/turned on, the moment you pickup your phone, the reminder sound is off? but if you let the phone on its own, the sound will continue until a certain period and then repeated after awhile until you dismiss the reminder.

is this a bug? how to fix this problem?
*
I believe this a feature, not a bug: Soften on pick up.

You should be able to turn this off in Settings.

Another problem here..
Anyone here use fring??
I want to video call with my fren in fring..
the problem is how to add contact in fring i mean a skype contact..
Is the video call requires $$ cause my fren is at oversea izit that just we two online and call no need $?
sry for my bad english>.<
*
Legend doesn't have a front facing camera, so you won't be doing video calls on it.

As for voip, charges will be incurred if you're not on a data plan.

im having the same problem. i already disable the quiet ring on pickup. it still soften the ringtone after 10seconds ringing

I can't remember if it's for this specific problem but try setting your Network Mode to WCDMA Only and see if it resolves this issue. IIANM, it will fix it but the downside is... you're on WCDMA only smile.gif

Using WCDMA only on Digi is pretty risky, you're likely to miss a lot of calls due to a lack of signal.

Add to that the fact that Digi's 3G is like Astro - goes missing when it rains - and you can see the fix introduces more problems than it actually addresses smile.gif

I dont feel sharp edge at all. In fact I love it bare naked.
*
Yeah, I bought the Legend primarily for its aluminium unibody so wouldn't think of hiding it behind a case. I carry it in a pouch but use it naked.

The top edge is sharp and can hurt if I press the phone too hard against my ear but thankfully the earpiece is loud enough that I don't have to do that.
