Hi, I just got myself Iphone 3Gs (AT&T) from ebay.
Apparently I can't use it unless I unlock it.
How much it cost to unlock it and after so I can use it?

Anyone of you experience this before? after you enable the tethering, the config disappear from your setting menu? How to ennable tethering? I cant find anything in the Windows XP control panel, no modem or anything added after I connect it using USB and itune 8.2 installed.

Ensure that:
1) You have enable 'Locations' setting.
2) When it starts, it might ask you "can this program use you location?", select YES/OK.

everything will be back to normal... unless they want to check further to see if you jb b4 or not which is lots of hassle

I bought the phone from a sale at a quite cheap price (compare to the market price of iPhone). It supposed to be an 'original' iphone 3GS 32G.

However, now I am not so sure whether it's real iPhone or just another expensive China/ Taiwan fake iPhone. Everything looks like real iPhone except that most of the apps are in chinese and unfortunately I don't read chinese.

Everything inside the box are very similar to what an original iPhone should get except that the leaflet guide are full of typo error.

The phone works well, I can make phone calls, SMS, using the calendar, the notes are funny because it says notes but it actually supposed to be tasks. There is a compass but I don't understand it as it is in chinese.

The biggest problem is my Macbook doesn't recognize the phone. The iTunes doesn't detect it under devices.

So how do I know if this is a real iphone or just a fake iphone? I don't even can be sure of the version of the firmware or software? And how do I make Macbook to recognize this device?

I've tried uninstall and reinstalled itunes. Not working.

I've found out about device manager, and couldn't find the driver on my macbook. I've tried to googled it but couldn't find where to download it.

I've tried to blackrained it but blackrain also couldn't detect the device.

Please help!

just restored your phone ...and everything will be normal and warranty is there...dont ever bring your phone for warranty claim with a jail broken set....

there is no software code of such for iphone... its definately a china iphone aka fake iphone

I'll answer your questions but before I do so, allow me to take the opportunity to say a few things, probably not just for myself but for the more seasoned forummers as well.

Due to the influx of new iPhone owners because obvious reasons, there are more queries inundating the forum here but what irks me and those seasoned forummers is the fact that questions where answers can be found in the pinned threads are being asked over and over again. Why can't one who has spent so much on a gadget take some time to read the relevant threads or even the user manual to know more about it? You can see that nowadays many questions are not being replied especially by 'older' forummers and it is, I believe, due to this main reason. So, guys, please take sometime to read the pinned threads so that you can equip yourself with more knowledge of the iPhone.

Now, the answers to your questions which also actually can be found in the threads...yes, you can charge your iPhone anytime and it does not matter at what level of the battery life. But it is good to once in a while, say, once a month, to let your battery drain completely. And yes, you can unplug anytime even when your iPhone is not fully charged.

Please help to make our forum here clean and 'tidy'. TQ.

China HiPhone detected. U suda kena tipu. When it's too good to be true (the price) ... then it's surely not true. The phone really cost few hundred bucks only and they sell it for 1K++.

Those handphone warehouse sales (or the likes of it) now sells fakes and pass it as an original iPhone. One of my friend kena, he went to the shop (luckily the shop exist) and demand for an original iPhone or he'll report to the Consumer Tribunal. He got the real one but only 8Gb 3G.

Let say i have a lot of applications total of 10 pages.. what's the fastest way to go to page 10 (last page)? I saw there are 10 dots at the bottom of the screen, I thought pressing the last dot will auto get me there.. very time consuming to flip through 10 pages le..
