Some of the (Edifier) top end model sounds quite okay to me..

ya, i only see the top end, those mid level and below i not too keen on them.

Edifier is good for it's price. I dont think they on the same level as SG, but they can challenge the new line-up of AL multimedia speakers anytime, anywhere.

yes, AL speakers didnt live up to my expectation, my friends old altecs are so much better.

Mmm... Edifier C3 so far seems satisfactory sound-wise to me. Still I haven't found anything that will really match my old ATP3 though... Must go listen to the Edifier S-series speakers one day.

the only speaker that i can accept from all edifier..

mny friend has an old ATP3, never had a chance to audit it, maybe this CNY i might try... bring some flac on the pendrive and my psc805 over.. wahahaha...

despite it can have bass / high / mid.
but it sound kinda messy to me.

and i use aego M as my computer speaker.
no special reason
just personal preference though.

the speakre is fast. and good sounding to me.

should try the MP230

or the MP210, but kinda bulky

my office mate has like ... 3 of the MP220 lying around ...

one is full of poke hole and dented,
one is dented and scratched all over,

Just snap some photo of wooer driver of Edifier M1310 and Evo3.

The secret i discover between the 2 brands.

For Edifier, parts installed according to their spec.

1. 5" woofer driver with metal cover to avoid electromagnetic fields. Why spk driver need shielded. During playback, to generate sound, an electromagnet uses the current from the amplifier to pull the cone forward, and the permanent magnet pulls the cone back. Placing speaker close to a television or computer monitor can cause serious picture distortion. Speakers with very strong magnets can cause data loss when placed close to computer hard drives, magnetic disks, and magnetic tape.

For Evo3, low end parts installed and not shielded.

1. Component that cannot see from eye, usually SG will purposely installed very low end component - check the tweeter drive i post previously
2. Driver not shielded, save the metal cost
3. using 4" driver - even the Edifier at the same price using 5". That y, they don't mention the woofer driver size in their box.
4. using cheap material on their driver

^ the sonic gear speakers are also magnetically shielded. notice the ferrite rings bonded on them. higher end edifier like S550 also use those kind of shielding.

Bro Nismo91, thanks for the guide. really learn alot of new things after open this topic and i just snap photo of M1310 PCB, hope u guy like it.

What i discover fr M1310 PCB r:

1. Use TDA2030 fr Italy for the woofer (search result fr Google)
2. Use 2 UTC2030A (Fr Taiwan) for sat (search result fr google)
3. Use CBB from Panasonic or Tan capacitors, not like the SG use polyester film capacitors to save cost, The polyester film capacitors generate large noise, and easily be damaged. Users usually will not notice this, but the service people will get over payed on this. (My engineer friend told me)
4. Using NE4558 from Texas compare to SG's F4558 - domestic made. (search reult fr Google)

Just wondering the the total RMS should be 18w + 2 x 14w= 46w, but Edifier just state their RMS is 30w only?? any brother can tell me this??

when current pass through voice coil. then the coil will creates magnetic field.
the permenant magnet is there to pull and push the coil. hence converting current -> magnetic -> kinetic.
if the coil creates N pole. while the permenant magnet has N pole. it will push each other away. while the permenant magnet is fixed to the basket of the speaker. so the only things can move is voice coil.
while if the current pass through the coil creastes S pole, then the magnet will pull the coil nearer.


not that the current pull driver and magnet pull it back.

as for the rating of W RMS. don't forget that the spec paper list the power of op-amp based on a power rating. let say the op-amp "A" supply 80W RMS in 20V. but the transformer used only supplies 15V. so u know its not 80W right? plus the efficiency of the PCB itself. last but not least, the total output of a transformer also affect the power. like M3300 has a transformer that outputs max ~48W and its power rated at 10% THD is 41W RMS. if the test is conducted at 1% THD it would be even lower.

Is this threats talking about all sonic gear speaker or certain model only? I was thinking of going for Sonic Gear A5 or A7. The sound quality from A5 not bad but i'm not sure about the technology itself. Is it as worst as Evo? Or is way more better?

I'm previously using AL VS4121, lots of humming sound came out from the woofer as well as for the latest VS4121 that i tried from Viewnet at lowyat. Is not really good for long term using coz the humming is getting more and more. Even when I switch on my speaker while my fren in the same house is playing game, his computer speaker getting the humming too....mmmm....

Anyway, i just wanna know about SG A5 and A7, is it worth to get it? Rm205 for A5, RM299 for A7....
