QUOTE(primaroti @ Jan 15 2013, 12:34 PM) well me myself is a 10 years sonic gear blue thunder 1 user, it's so resistant and persistent used (and I almost no close power for this speakers LOL), but no spoil until now, sound is very good for low, mid, high, just 1 thing is you can't pump volume too big, but for normal room, it ady suffice enough to listen, music, movie, gaming, all just good, and it's CHEAP MYR 100+? |

Wwwooooowwwwwwww.... i used to have Evo5 Platinum, despite the ok sound quality I always am puzzled with the design decision they made (dummy lcd that does nothing and overheat overtime and malfunction within few weeks of usage) so I have always question about theit build quality... turns out my decision to stay away is a right decision....
Sorry to dig old threads but I am amazed they went this low that I have to reply.... |

QUOTE(lex @ Aug 26 2014, 10:19 PM) No idea yet on the quality yet, unless someone reviews it and have a good look inside. So many functions in such low prices, something gotta give somewhere... Tested today the sonic gear evo 9 speaker in Tesco. More or less can confirm the tweeter is also just for show only - can't hear any sound from the tweeter. Attached thumbnail(s) |

- Logitech Z-623 board... Opened it recently for capacitor upgrades.
- The glue used is pretty hardened even after I opened it after a few hours of blasting. Hope they don't cause trouble in the future. - It wasn't egg-cooking hot in there, just luke-warm. - All connections were secured with glue and wrapped with some kind of sponge to reduce vibrations. - Capacitors are all TEAPO rated @ 105'C. They are average capacitors from my research, slightly better than other generic or low cost brands. - Board designed / manufactured by Audera Acoustics. PCB seems to be of professional quality. Quite hard to desolder parts at times. - Power supply, DSP, amp in a single board. Not sure how that does for audio though. I know nuts about electronics - Separate I/O board. - No stuffing or damping in the woofer enclosure, plan to add some later. Hmm polyfill in middle or wool around the 'walls'? - All in all, good build & reasonable workmanship in a world of competitive cost savings.
