I never like any of those 'brand' speakers.. the reason why I bought BOSE instead..no offence guys but to me they just don't sound right.

From wikipedia:

"While piezoelectric tweeters are cheap and rugged when compared to typical voice coil tweeters, most are not capable of the same level of linearity and accuracy of reproduction compared to high quality conventional tweeter designs. Piezoelectric tweeters are most commonly found in inexpensive stereo and public address speakers, where cost and reliability are more important than accuracy."

Good work there on the 'investigative' work ala CSI.. thumbup.gif
I'd say its pretty much 'standard' to most of the MIC stuffs.. the casing may look good, it is the inside that we do not know what craps they used..

Designwise, Edifier quite okay to the eyes..
Only heard them briefly at computer shops, on demo.. never stayed long enough while they're playing.. Never like the sound or the song they're playing..

That RM5 tweeter from Jalan Pasar doesn't look like a piezo based to me.
Piezo ones that I used to buy have horn like enclosure to radiate the 'noises' biggrin.gif , and they're 3 bucks each! LOL! laugh.gif
