Just found a review of SG Armageddon 3, the speaker produce by Eacan

actually, if you take a close look, the PCB used in A5 is almost identical to the above-mentioned Eacan A600II. only some differents in components. but transformer and PCB are more-or-less identical.

nice find. i think same thing for A5 too.

actually sonicgear a5 like just eacan a200ii's oem

i owned both of them, a5 died in 1 year plus, a600ii sold

but in term of sq ,a600ii better a lot...

a5's bass are muddy ....

even a3 bass also better than a5....imo

Speaking of discovery, I bought this China budget speaker with mp3 playback. It has two speaker and a center woofer that looks like a mini sub. So I went ahead and bought it because it play quite well. When I reach home, open up the whole thing, realized that there are no sub at all. Just a piece of paper covering a hole but resemble the looks of a speaker.

I think we are asking too much from the chinese. Rm50, has two small speaker, support memory card n 3.5mm input, even come with rechargeable battery like those on our phone. It sounds slightly better than the MP230 that I bought. MP230 sounds a bit tiny...

How about SG Tatoo Duo 2 guys. Because i own this speaker and i really want to know what i pay for...

SonicGear is from Singapore, and Altec is from US. i like klipsch also. there is one dismantle pic i posted here along with some other speakers like altec lansing. as you can see it uses cheapskate capacitors, but it has rather sophisticated motherboard and metal film capacitors (like bose companion). too much metal film caps are not a good thing either, i read earlier it is not always superior in terms of sound. beefy transformer as well.

there is also pic of older vs new promedia 2.1 here in case you're interested. rather disappointing many things has gone. scroll up and there is picture of GMX 2.1 as well. what klipsch are you using? i wanted the ultra 5.1 but the size + stepdown transformer is too big for me.

anyway, i think Divoom is based on Singapore. already mentioned about it few years back. anyhow copy design from different manufacturers, what a shame.
