USB tethering is what we call that..Its available via the Custom ROM..I've not tried the recent N1 version, but Hero version worked for my Hero..
Thanks for the info. I'll try and do a search for Custom ROMs.

Added on March 17, 2010, 11:01 amHi gurus,

Got a question for SMS.

Am I able to save a specific SMS? Currently SMS displays as thread, if I were to delete it, I would be deleting the whole thread sms right? Could I save/move a particular SMS to a specific folder or something?

I have played around with Handcent, but could not find the feature...or did I miss it?

Hi all, what IM client you all use on nexus one? I find that eBuddy and Fring are buggy and you need to register their own account before you can login to your msn, yahoo....

IM+ lite is the best so far, it's light. But no custom notification tone, you can only use yr sms tone, I need to separate the sms and my IM message...

Any recommendation? thank you smile.gif

Well m using ebuddy so far gets the job done very Well.

If u are on handcent, in the thread mode, long press the particular message u are interested in..a list of options should appear....<use lock message to lock a sms>, then you can delete the whole thread but keep that particular message or you can just delete threads that you do not want to keep.

I am not sure you can save to aparticular folder though...

Long press on a particular message will pop you a menu. From there you can delete the message.

Yeah...i saw the lock feature too. But I would rather prefer saving one particular sms to a folder. Seems to be a pretty basic thing which many phones are able to do pretty straight-forward-ly. Kinda wondering y its not available on the N1. Thanks for the assistance!

There are no more folders in Nexus One. Its old skool now. Previously, messages came one by one from each user, and the folders idea was to arrange them as "threads". Today, threads are built in so you get an archived SMS log instead of just one page of all users and you have to search through it. Remember, the prime goal of SMS was to deliver "Short Message Service" in the shortest, most understandable method. Those funny and cute messages that came later were just evolution smile.gif On Nexus One, I use the default messaging application since it does pretty much everything that handcent can do (except switch to iPhone UI look or change the colors which I'm not really a fond of anyway). And on the default messaging application, if you are on the threads list, long pressing a thread will give you delete thread option. If you are in a thread, long pressing a message will give you the message delete option smile.gif

Thanks for the input shahz. I agree. I like the thread concept much more. It reminds me of the days when emails came in one by one on yahoo and hotmail, and then gmail introduces the conversation tabs.

But from time to time, there will be some sentimental sms which would be worth saving and holding on to smile.gif

Hi all gurus,

Is N1 able to receive business card? I had a business card sent to me from a nokia phone twice but nothing came up on my N1. On the other phone, it says "Delivered".

Or am i missing something again?

Today found some article mention about Google Nexus One filter dirty word when using Voice Recognition.

I test it! WOW!!! it do filter dirt word.

Try voice speak of "f*** you" and it will return result of "#### you"

Cool!!!

Did you mean startup looping? if yes, make sure you wipe after flash. This will remove the startup looping issue.
