QUOTE(korengger @ Mar 17 2010, 01:43 PM) Thanks for the input shahz. I agree. I like the thread concept much more. It reminds me of the days when emails came in one by one on yahoo and hotmail, and then gmail introduces the conversation tabs. That is why you have threads..Only keep the one you really will read again and delete the ones you dont..its even easier to find this way isn't it? But from time to time, there will be some sentimental sms which would be worth saving and holding on to QUOTE(larkowen @ Mar 17 2010, 01:43 PM) shahz, need your advice on which custom ROMs would be suitable for newbie like me? Cyanogen Mod 5 (CM5) is your baby Looking for something stable and last for quite some time. I've checked XDA and there are tons of ROMs available. QUOTE(korengger @ Mar 17 2010, 03:26 PM) Hi all gurus, You can, but the message will be slightly garbled..But you can see the phone number though. Once again, things are coming into standards now. All phone manufacturers had different ways of sending contact info, so now, its coming to one level of standards that can be adapted by all manufacturers. It will make life easier for everyone. Its just a text message. If you didn't recieve it, check your SMS setting on both phones. Is N1 able to receive business card? I had a business card sent to me from a nokia phone twice but nothing came up on my N1. On the other phone, it says "Delivered". Or am i missing something again? QUOTE(larkowen @ Mar 17 2010, 03:42 PM) Went trough all the hassles to root it..from SDK to usb drivers.......Yawnzz.... It means you have broken the bootloader and you have the option to get root if you want..Basically, its a "step" towards obtaining root When it is written "unlocked" in bootloader page, means success rooted right? QUOTE(larkowen @ Mar 17 2010, 05:51 PM) Andrew, did that .. yeah !! Refer to my sticky post on Paid AppsHow do I access paid apps ah since I've already rooted and flashed the phone.. Yes. Its all in the contacts settings. Make sure you just enable the Accounts that have phone numbers (find this option. Its in the contacts As far as your questions are conrened, here is my answer: 1. Since when did iPhone made lives easy anyway? What I did when I got my Nexus One, I took special effort for it to organize my contacts list once and for all. I adhered to standards, used people's first names and last names for ease of find instead of nick names, assigned their facebook profiles accordingly, and once it was done, I synchronized my contact with google and facebook. Now, I am not worried about wiping my phone or even losing it. Whenever I get a new Android, I know I will get it all back with just a twitch |

QUOTE(TeraPox @ Mar 18 2010, 12:32 AM) You need to learn to do it yourself, or else you will be find it hard to maintain your phone moving forward. If you can't update to new/updated ROM or fix problems without needing to depend on someone to do it for you, I don't really see the point in you rooting/installing custom ROMs. It would be like running Windows/Linux without knowing how to install/update a newer version or apply hotfixes/patches.This post has been edited by PsychoJoe: Mar 18 2010, 02:24 AM |
