Thanks for the input shahz. I agree. I like the thread concept much more. It reminds me of the days when emails came in one by one on yahoo and hotmail, and then gmail introduces the conversation tabs.

But from time to time, there will be some sentimental sms which would be worth saving and holding on to smile.gif

That is why you have threads..Only keep the one you really will read again and delete the ones you dont..its even easier to find this way isn't it? smile.gif All we have to do is just change the way we use..We have to believe this will be better, then we will accept it..I have adopted it already and I dont need folders..Besides, you don't delete your contacts right? Then why should you delete your threads? smile.gif

shahz, need your advice on which custom ROMs would be suitable for newbie like me?

Looking for something stable and last for quite some time. I've checked XDA and there are tons of ROMs available.

Cyanogen Mod 5 (CM5) is your baby smile.gif

Hi all gurus,

Is N1 able to receive business card? I had a business card sent to me from a nokia phone twice but nothing came up on my N1. On the other phone, it says "Delivered".

Or am i missing something again?

You can, but the message will be slightly garbled..But you can see the phone number though. Once again, things are coming into standards now. All phone manufacturers had different ways of sending contact info, so now, its coming to one level of standards that can be adapted by all manufacturers. It will make life easier for everyone. Its just a text message. If you didn't recieve it, check your SMS setting on both phones.

Went trough all the hassles to root it..from SDK to usb drivers.......Yawnzz....

When it is written "unlocked" in bootloader page, means success rooted right?
*
It means you have broken the bootloader and you have the option to get root if you want..Basically, its a "step" towards obtaining root smile.gif

Yes. Its all in the contacts settings. Make sure you just enable the Accounts that have phone numbers (find this option. Its in the contacts smile.gif ). Then, you can also choose facebook, gmail, and exchange sync accounts. From here, you can even filter which you want to display and which you dont. If a contact have multiple accounts (facebook and gmail) you can join both of his accounts and merge it into one. Everything is there. Its just a matter of finding it and using the feature smile.gif

As far as your questions are conrened, here is my answer:

1. Since when did iPhone made lives easy anyway? What I did when I got my Nexus One, I took special effort for it to organize my contacts list once and for all. I adhered to standards, used people's first names and last names for ease of find instead of nick names, assigned their facebook profiles accordingly, and once it was done, I synchronized my contact with google and facebook. Now, I am not worried about wiping my phone or even losing it. Whenever I get a new Android, I know I will get it all back with just a twitch smile.gif

To all Guys & Gals,

I know that there's quite a number of Ex-Iphone user (include me tongue.gif) scratching their heads how to transfer all the contacts which save at Iphone.
I do not want talk so many crap stuff... below are some steps which can help you to transfer all your contacts from Iphone ---> Nexus One.

1. Make sure you already have Gmail account. If not, go register one...
2. Open your Itunes and connect your Iphone to your pc.
3. Click at "Devices" which where you "Sync" your Iphone application, music & etc...
4. Click at "Info" tabs, you can see "Contacts". At the side, Click "Sync contacts with:_____ (change to Google contacts" and Press "Sync" at far below on right panel.
5. Open your "Gmail" account. You can see "Contacts" just right below "Compose Mail". Click on it & you can see all your Iphone contacts is there....
6. Please double confirm all the contacts & edit if necessary.
7. Go to your "Nexus One" --> select "Contacts" --> Press "Menu" --> Press "Accounts" --> under manage accounts, you can see your "Gmail" account, select it --> then you will see "Sync Contacts" & click on it.. It will "Sync" all the contacts from what you have at Gmail account contacts.

Hope this really help you all... (Ex-Iphone user), any comments, please do let me know....
I'm a noobie to Nexus One & to Andriod....

You need to learn to do it yourself, or else you will be find it hard to maintain your phone moving forward. If you can't update to new/updated ROM or fix problems without needing to depend on someone to do it for you, I don't really see the point in you rooting/installing custom ROMs. It would be like running Windows/Linux without knowing how to install/update a newer version or apply hotfixes/patches.
