Cassie,
I will scan it and post. it will likely be tomorrow.

Empire,
You are great, man. As the only professional among us here, you are trying to be humble. You have a point. There are not many banana interested in this instrument. It is indeed nice to know that we had done out bit to help english reader for this instrument.

hopefully i'll still remember how to play the gu zheng when i come back! haha

I find some scrolls online too, but somehow i think what knowledge isn't enough to play other songs besides those that i have learnt.
If i have the time, i'll compile whatever scrolls of interesting songs you guys have posted here and post up on the first page =)

Cassie,
Any sheet that the has right hand and left hand moving together is easy for me. The song gets difficult in the middle. Have fun.

It looks good Subang. Can you shade some black into the bald headness and throw away the eye brow too. The one in red robe is better than bare body. Guitar at the back is ok. If you have the guzheng in front instead of a guitar it would be great.

Phil,
Good stuff. What is the song about? Can you write the title in chinese character if any?

My stand had been broken. I had always thought of getting the stand that you used in the video. I seen it commonly used for keyboards. I had reservation about it for guzheng because we press hard with our left hand a lot. Can I have some comments?

This is the song of the above song sheets named "战台风" fight with the typhoon.
The stand is the keyboard X stand, make sure u buy double X, some sells single which will wobble when playing hard. Pressing is not a problem at all.

Empire,
I forgot you use a keyboard stand too. Actually I thought it will wobble. I guess Double X means two extra leg to give it more stablity.

Phil,
I am not very familiar with 战台风. If you read the my previous post I still cant play with both hands. I am only familiar with the start of the song. I dont think I have past 8 bars to the song yet. I am surprise you are playing the same piece I posted. Your video seems a lot higher in difficulty level.

I am impress with the sound your guzheng produce. What brand do you use? Thanks for the Double X tips.

Tell us what kind of program you did in Shanghai? How long was the course? Well, at least people who are inspired to follow your path have some ideas.

This is one of the popular modern piece of guzheng, played it 20 yrs ago yawn.gif

The one I'm using in the video I brought back from Hunan China, not available in Malaysia now. It all depends on what kind of piece you play and pick the correct tone which you want, no single brand can make it all.

I took undergrad program in Shanghai, took me 4 yrs + 1 yr pre U.

Phil,
You probably got the guzheng real cheap in china back then.

I must say you pluck the guzheng well. The tone it renders is different from those I heard. Perhaps the mixing or recording did a good job.

Empire,
You recored music before. What are you comments?
