hyumi...guzeng is a wonderful instrument if played with feelings. Many palyers i saw play without any expression. I have a smaller guzeng at home that I bring for my shows with my Shanghai Angels Fusion Bands.

You can buy a cheap keyboard Stand to place the Guzeng,. That's what I do. You can position the height in a greater dimension than a normal Guzeng stand.

My small Guzeng is wonderful when we travel outstation for shows as it does not take up much space in the car boot.

subangman...no. I tuned mine to 'D'. Actually you can tune it in any key you want as long as the strings still ring nicely.

hyumi...no need spend so much la. Gte a mini- gu zeng like mine good enough d. i use even for professional shows. the sound's wonderful.

I'd say pls dont bother with exams. I play Gu zeng, Erhu, zhongRuan, Dizi plus many more western instruments...and I dont see any need to go for exam....yet I play all these professionally full time.

You dont need any cert. Even my Piano performance diploma was NEVER used at all even after i completed it eons ago. Not even once!

Go learn and ENJOY the instrument. Once you get into the silly exam nonsense....it will kill your enthusiasm. Hope these words will inspire you all.

hyumi...you press down the 6 string until it becomes the 7note and play it.

hyumi...better still...you and me go play a guzeng and I show.

faceless...it's obvious you have never been in side MPO hall. If you have...you will have known that no video cam is allowed in at all.
