Finally smartcard successfully activated after hours of waiting. Watching Valencia and Espanyol match, crystal clear, can't believe my eyes, other SD channels not bad though. Firmware also the latest.

when i looked at this picture ... i guess your location must be around sri kembangan. same installer, very fast & friendly.

bro, good idea. but i heard the new smartcard will not work in old decoder, i know u have verified the dish, can u check on the decoder? else the spare decoder for travelling plan will fail.

Glad to hear that, the HD channels, sport and NGeo are crystally clear.

my astro installer didnt change my cables because they are concealed... the signal is at most 195 during the day and 205 at night.... should i call them to come and change the cable? will the change of cable help boost signal strength? ...today it rained and as usual service currently not available.

when ESPN HD will come...really can't wait....

It's not going to completely get rid of rain fade regardless of the signal level. I would only call if they didn't give you the new dish.
They would have tested the cable and advised you during install if it wasn't suitable.

they didnt really test the cable, they just say its still in pretty good shape lol... there was no problem viewing it when it doesnt rain ... but i have a feeling they werent sure about it either.... because when they set the decoder for me, they didnt change the resolution output to 1080i lol...ut was automatically set to 576p... and he said here are the hd channels... then i showed them how to change the resolution and its so much sharper and detailed.... the installer eyes were practically stunned with what he saw lol...

Just got the updated software ard 6pm. Current version is 1.0.1.001 dec 23 2009 but dont know what is the improvement.

the volume level between SD and HD issue has been fixed... at least thats what i feel... it doesnt feel so loud when changing channels between them anymore

did you guys notice that the picture quality in 1080i is way too bright compared to 720p?

or is it just my HDTV? by the way add me to the list i'm from keramat au2a

Hi, does anyone know what is the digital audio port behind the Astro Byond box? Is it SPDIF ? Has anyone used the port ? If YES, is the audio good ?

that's your TV or it is deliberate effect on the show you are watching.

coaxial and hdmi digital audio, no optical

it's SPDIF and its digital audio, so yes it is good.
But since it's digital audio you won't be able to control the decoders volume when using it so be sure to sync the remote to the TV.
press OK and Vol up till the remote blinks twice to be able to control volume if connecting this.

i tried change other satellite , but only says LOCKED how to save it ?

There is asignal amplifier available by the installer for RM25.. One of MSM member manage to install that & the signal increased from 180 to 250..i.e the max!!
