how the HD quality from ASTRO ? is the PICTURE quality awsome? i had been downloading NatGeo HD from net, but not sure the quality when compare it with astro. May be someone here can share their experince.

How long does it take to activate from installation completed? Mine completed around 1.50pm

I called Astro CS a hour ago , smart card activation is in process, need to wait within 24 hours. WTH !

sure i can't watch Astro tonite coz the installer will only come on 6pm...how long is the activation...

can some one upload maybe a screen shot of the quality?

I'm also thinking of the same thing. I subscribed to Astro just last week, just for the purpose of getting Byond, so I got the newer decoder with component out. Wanna swap with my dad's 9 years old Phillips DMT. But worried the installer maybe fussy and wants the exact decoder tied to my account. Another option is of course to pay RM80, which I am reluctant. Should kautim with the installer lah like this.

Mine not even 2 minutes after the installer called Astro..put down the phone, playing wth the remote & was telling me that it will takes ~20min b4 I can watch..B4 even he teach me how to use the remote further..suddenly the HD & other SD channels activated..

r u sure? what lcd/plasma tv that u hv?
mine is sony 32V550A & component input can support hd format up to 1080p.

Can't compare with those downloaded.
Downloads are better in PIC QUALITY.

Or could my Astro installer brought an illegal smartcard, but i verify the box set, the serial number and smart card number is matching

Received call from Astro CS, no problem on smartcard activation system, apparently the Astro Installer did not carry out the right procedure contacting IVR (dunno what stand for) giving his Astro installer code, Astro beyond serial number and smartcard number. Gave him the Astro installer contact number, hope the problem and activation can be done soonest.

Astro also can change the centralised dish. Just urge your building management to change the dish.
