Xbox 360 Asia Premium is selling for around RM 1400, but some shop sell as low as RM 1300. You have to go every shop and ask their best price.

If you want cheaper, you can buy Xbox 360 Japanese console, around RM 900 only. But the downside, you have to use stepdown-transformer which is bulky and inconvinient.

Hi guyz. Just for information. There is already 2 vs of the Xbox360 in the market now.

1) The original Xbox360 (Asian set) is around RM1300 found at Sg Wang.
- Play original game only
2) Flash original Xbox360 (Asian set) is around RM1500-RM1600 also found at Sg Wang
- Can play ahemm games (around RM25-35) and original game.
- If u want to play live, make sure u bought only original game
- If no live, up to u ler..

Conclusion : hemm i think better go for flash machine. ooopss sweat.gif

This is just stupid because they're charging you extra RM 200 - RM 300 for something you can do yourself at home.

I won't go for flashed Xbox 360 because:

1) No Xbox Live, and if you think Xbox Live is just about online multiplayer games, you're wrong. They also have Xbox Live Marketplace (download games content, game demo, trailer, XBLA games), friend list, voice chat, game updates, and more.

2) Some game requires you to update your system to play. If you don't update your system, the game won't boot. What if one day Microsoft includes an update that disables your flashed drive? You won't play that game?

3) Almost the same as reason number 2. Microsoft will release system update via Xbox Live. What if one day they include an update that disables your flashed drive?

If you're playing 360 without LIVE, then you're still living in current-gen. If you really wanna experience next-gen with the 360, you'll need LIVE, no questions about it. smile.gif

Thats true bro.

But after seeing wif my own eyes (my friend who own it) update the system through the xbox website w/o any problem. He also play live with original GRAW. This make me think twice blink.gif Anyway, i like purchasing a original game which make me feel thumbup.gif

AFAIK, currently u can still play on live and dload updates and use the marketplace even with a flashed Xbox360. Of course in the future, i'm sure MS will release an update that would block any flashed fw users from logging into live. sweat.gif

Another reason why PS3 will suck:

http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticl...?searchid=12067

Looks like people who only have component input will not be able to play the games in Hi-res!! WTF. Even XBOX can do HDTV via component input, there's no reason the PS3 can't. Another way of SONY of screwing their longtime fans.

Thank you SONY. GoodBye SONY.

Erm, which part of that article that u can't seem to understand? It just mentioned that the HDMI cables are not included with the package. It never mention about the PS3 not able to display games in Hi-res with component input. doh.gif rclxub.gif

According to FiringSquad:
///
The already expensive $599 Playstation 3 will be even more expensive if you want to experience true HDTV resolutions in your games and movies. The official Playstation 3 web site in its FAQ section confirms that displaying movies in 1080p resolution will require a TV with an HDMI output and cable. Unfortuately you will have to buy that cable separately since the PS3 will not come with one.
///

My browser wasn't working in the PS3 Site just now.

And here is what it says:

///
Video output in HD requires cables and an HD-compatible display, both sold separately. Copy-protected Blu-ray video discs can only output at 1080p using an HDMI cable connected to a device that is compatible with the HDCP standard. HDMI cable not included. Additional equipment may be required to use the HDMI connector.
///

Looks like kena tipu by firingsquad. Still, using Blue-Ray movies at 1080p requires HDMI cable.

Still, it's Goodbye SONY and Hello Nintendo for me. wink.gif

Still the question remains. Do you own a 1080p capable HDTV? If not, then it won't even matter. laugh.gif

Furthermore the game price itself will be estimated around RM250-300. sweat.gif Sure the most buyer are adult category. This i forsee the downside for the PS3. Go go X360 tongue.gif

No english games? blink.gif

Maybe it's true during Japanese launch on November 11th, but the console will be released simultaneously in North America, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand on November 17th, just 6 days after Japanese launch. I think there will be English games on November 17th.

1999? You mean PS2 vs Xbox vs GameCube? The console war means nothing to me, I owned all those 3 consoles. tongue.gif

EDIT

To own all 3 consoles last gen, we only need USD 800 (based on launch price), but this time, we need around USD 1250 (PS3 = USD 600, Xbox 360 = USD 400, Wii = estimated USD 250). shocking.gif

Hopefully this time I have enough to purchase PS3 & Wii. sweat.gif I already have Xbox 360.

Yeah, same wif me. But now i'm not interested on wii. The pad is just not suit wif me. shakehead.gif But the PS3, no vibration. Quiet frustrated though. Hopefully there is 3rd party brand doing that eg logitech wif his PS2 wireless gamepad.

The problem is, will devs code in vibration function when the majority of PS3 owners won't have rumble? Does this mean that most if not all PS3 owners will have to buy a thirdparty rumble controller? Man, that sucks.

Yeah, doubt that 3rd party controllers will include rumble, since most developers won't include rumble in their games since the default controller is rumble-less.

Rumble will be missed, but it's not the end of the world. Nintendo fans have been using the rumble-less Wavebird and there has been no complaints as yet... smile.gif

Perhaps it's because the Wavebird was an N64 controller and rumble wasn't really a big deal back then? I dunno - but I guess these days a lot of people take it for granted that rumble comes with your console.

Still, I suppose games WILL be playable for the most part...until we hit Gran Turismo and you can't tell if your tires are slipping or not on the tarmac. Worse if it's Colin Mc Rae.

For that games, it would definitely be a big disadvantage. sweat.gif Although most hardcore racing gamers should opt a force feedback steering wheel instead, the lack of rumble feature would still affect the majority of gamers out there. wink.gif

Agree. Don't mean to slam the PS3 at all, I KNOW there'll be all sorts of goodness for it as it matures. Just a bit puzzled about Sony's direction in all this. I guess time will tell.

surely the rumble will return in a future revision of the PS3 controller (rumble-boomerang?), after all the parties reach a legal settllement on the patent disputes.
