Geeezzeee... I'm having dilemma whether to get a Wii or Xbox360. I wanted to get a new console by end of the year. However, I do wanna get a taste of Wii (concept of the remote and games are superb). Espeacially "Zelda" rule!

On the other hand, Xbox360 game line up is more of my kind of games. Sign... sakit kepala... if only I have a big enough 'water paip' to get both console

This kind of question.. U need to ask yer self. If I were you, I would buy both of them. What you really like, what you wanna play and so on. Both are good. biggrin.gif

maybe they'll test the market with a limited launch, who knows?
games piracy is a problem in India too, but MS India didn't just give up b4 even trying.

maybe we can start a poll/petition right here, and gauge the support for a possible official Msia launch?

Wow such close ties to the corporate Elite. Please pass up more suggestions as to; establishing Microsoft Concept stores. Which I'm sure there will be a demand for it.

Sizemodo: PlayStation 3 vs. ColecoVision

QUOTE
user posted image
Released in 1982, the ColecoVision was infamous for advertising games using doctored or artist renditions of screenshots designed to look like a completed game. Various other advertised games were never even released.

Other problems: Coleco Industries tried to do too much and made a hardware expansion module (the Adam), turning the console into a full blown computer. Consumers balked at the $600 price tag, despite the Adam containing a new Digital Data Pack, which were higher capacity than older audio cassette drives. The failure weakened Coleco, which eventually filed for bankruptcy.

Jump to see the titans clash.

This move refects a total misreading of how micro-transactions have been successful in Asia. There the games are given away for free with full functionality with add-ons purchased for enhancements (usually combined with online, competitive play to spur the purchases).

Microtransactions in Asia are about growing markets by giving players a lower cost to entry for games, not as a way to suck additional revenues out of paying customers.
well, another discussion on another forum pose an interesting scenario. why not charge USD25 for a game disk which contains 60%~80% of the game unlocked. consumers are then given the option to "buy" the rest of the game via online unlocking, microtransaction or paid DLC.

or charge USD50 for a game disk w/ locked content. first-play gamers (ppl who buy new games) will get free unlock via online registration tied to account & machine. consumers who opt for games-renting & 2nd-hand market are then given the option to "buy" the unlocking.

some simple changes to the current business model can mutually benefit game publishers and a growing gaming consumer market.

disclaimer: USD50/20 are merely arbitary numbers. the above are not my ideas. i simply rephrase some of the ideas tossed in another discussion.

Denis Dyack: 360, PS3 Are Equals

The head of Silicon Knights says it's a wash between the next-gen consoles.

Silicon Knights, makers of Eternal Darkness, are readying the forever-in-development Too Human for the Xbox 360, as well as an unannounced title for the PlayStation 3. Speaking to the San Jose Mercury News, the company's President, Denis Dyack, says the next-generation systems are virtually identical in terms of power.

"The 360 and the PS3 are equal in power in my eyes," Dyack says. "Maybe the PS3 has more processing power. The 360 has more available memory. It's pretty much a net, net. The public perception of the PS3 was that it was much more powerful. To developers, they look even."

Silicon Knights had a working relationship with Nintendo for several years, making Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes for the GameCube. That partnership ended in 2004, though, and Dyack says he has no current plans to develop for the Wii. Too Human is planned as a trilogy for the Xbox 360.

I was initially a sony boy. now i can easily say the 360 over-powers the PS3 by alot. i mean A LOT . haha the funny part is the double RAM factor.
