Yeah, the branded stuff is not cheap. Furthermore, in terms of bass traps the Auralex LERND isn't that great. There are better ones from GIK and Realtraps but these are big, heavy and shipping cost from USA is very high.

So in the end better to DIY those 2' x 4' x 4" panels using rockwool or equivalent. Cost including materials and labour is around RM180-200 each I believe.

Another style you can do is the corner superchunk type (perfect to fit into corners). Like this:

The material cost is not much, it's the time andeffort ivolved in gathering the materials together.
Luckily,I have managed to source all I need in the area where I work.
Just need time to put them together, the end result of DIY is most gratifying smile.gif

I checked my records and the rockwool is only ~RM45 per trap. Then have to add wood for the frames, cloth covering material and labour to assemble it all.

Glad that the bass traps worked out well for u! And with the new sofa, now your bass at another level smile.gif

These are triangular shape. The rest are flat panels (2' x 4'). 10pcs in total. But I did not use all in the HT room.

Btw, I did some calibration and it is better than before. However, still waiting for SB13-Plus to be back.

On another note, listen to some songs today. I think I need to bring those CDs at home to listen.

I did post my home setup before in the pinned HT setup thread.

Nothing fancy compared to other serious HT members. Many members herebeen to my pad before. Now, don't have to audition mine since the demo room is a lot better. Still a small fry compares to other shops.

In future (reads when got $ to splurge) going to set up a proper hifi system at home. Currently using Exposure amp with bookshelf spkrs.

I have relocate both subs as well as reposition all my bass traps. Done some calibration too.

End result - very satisfying. The best performance that I could get thus far thumbup.gif
