The installer told me i'm the first customer he install. He have 5 more unit in his van ... i think Kuching only start install today..

PM sent...
*
My colleague got his installed in Bintulu yesterday and I saw someone's installed a day earlier(mentioned in previous post). I just got my T&C call this morning.

Registered through Astro dealer on 26 Dec
Called CS on 28 Dec to check status and was told someone will call me for T&C within 24hrs.
Called CS again on 30 Dec after nobody called me for T&C after almost 48hrs.

Was told installer will call me back withing 10 days for the appointment. I was told after 12 months contract which end in April 2011, we can cancel the HD service but can continue to use Byond decoder for the SD service.

Just got astro Byond 3 days after T&C. Signal not quite ok, just around 190-200 around 75%.. The installer said cable to long.. Using old cable half, no need to pay for extra cable.

Anyway, my satellite setting using 18- measat 3A.. my installer try a few, between measat 3 and measat 3A.. at last using measat 3a.

so it is as it should be, as reported by newspaper astro rented measat 3A's 6 transponders out of 12 for HD broadcast, astro may rent another 6 transponders if business is picking up

the rental is very expensive, us$1.8 million per transponder for the first year
*
I thinks a few transponder already lease by other company. So astro cannot rent all another 6 transponder.

Still using my olf RF remote transmitter But I think my remote transmitter kong liao..so coincident!! haizzz bcos no blinking LED once I press the remote... sad.gif  Anyway happy wth the quality although not 1080i ..I really need to choose Zoom1 in my old LG 26' TV to get better aspect ratio...but acceptable quality to my suprise.. I will take a comparative photo between my main Plasma screen & the 2nd LCD screen  when I'm free..

I have the same problem when my IR remote control cannot be used to change my channel (from my SD TV) after upgrading to astro.byond. Are u sure you are able to do so now ie changed channels remotely (after changing ur konked out remote control)?
Thank you

until now i still not sure should upgrade to byond or not as:
1) some people mention SD channels PQ is not as good as before (maybe due to bad upscale or something wrong with SD channels in byond)
2) byond dont have s-video which i use for my recorder and there is no simple/cheap component to s-video solution available
3) available HD channels not my family favourites
The implementation of USB storage negates the need to record shows (on the recorder) for later viewing.

Record shows (piracy) for personal viewing off the decorder.... there are component input capture cards.

I think you need to call astro to get the installer details.. The installer cannot do anything if they dont have ur details.

Astro will send sms with installer name/phone no when you have been assigned to particular installer..
