just says unlocked nothing happening
QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Dec 31 2009, 10:24 AM) Anyone try changing their entrypoint in the decoder from #1 Measat 3 (VL) to #14 Measat 3A (VH)? I was messing around and I seem to be getting a slightly better signal at that setting. Signal strength jump from 80 to around 88, highest point 94 |

Btw, about the list earlier... I dun think we're receiving those feeds. The feed we're receiving are the ones marked "Astro". In other words, Astro clustering their signals into one or more feeds and transmitting. Those feeds on the list are for satellite providers to pick up only.

The Home Theater amplifier must support either.Which should we buy for Byond? i am kinda blur now Astro Byond using coaxial. However the 5.1 amp must support coax in and corresponding DD 5.1 bitstream. QUOTE ets make this happen....B.yond headcount.. QUOTE(JOR23N @ Dec 31 2009, 10:30 AM) HD broadcasts are definately not the same as HD from BD sources, or downscaled 720p from the HD masters. To be fair, at the moment, I don't believe there is too much bit rate compression applied. When there are more channels, there is bound to be. Same here, same overseas (BBCHD is one fine example). |

Same here, same overseas (BBCHD is one fine example). someone mentioned here that the compression rate is about 8-9Mbps... I'd say just go up a bit more to 11Mbps would be just right lol... yeah BBCHD's quality has indeed drop. They claimed that they are using the latest encoder which results to smaller bitrate usage... but... honestly I've seen the .ts file ... its really bullshit like directv's hd now... meh! |

Those feeds are not using the same encryption method as Astro box (Irdeto vs. Mediaguard). |

Some of the movies in HBO HD aren't HD at all. I could recall movies like Naked Gun, Footloose.

QUOTE(cyberian @ Dec 31 2009, 11:01 AM) You need a converter box. The signal is electronically compatible, just transmission medium not same (one using electrical signal, other using light). Like someone earlier said, Pasar Road got cheap converter box. Coaxial from Byond go in one end, optical to amp come out the other end. |

QUOTE(stimix @ Dec 30 2009, 10:12 PM) OK I managed to change the cheapo AV-RF converter by topping another RM15 to get the SSmart brand converter...Same setting & yes now the distortion no more..and the best, the picture quality is infact better than b4 although still not as good as my main LCD.. So, can you change channel by adding the Xtralink thing? |
