Pls use Dolby ONLY for home theater normal TV does not support Dolby.  Not all LCD is perfect for HD your LCD should not be HD ready but a HD LCD. Mine is LCD HD ready but it is not that great anyway. To enjoy the best HD we must have a full HD.Full HD means a lot of Money, then I heard should be 100 hz , mine only 50hz . About Astro HD to me the best I wld say is NG and History HD the HBO and Sports  seems to be NOT that great, HBO seems to be the worst perhaps its upscaled vmad.gif  thumbup.gif

mine FULL HD....but takkan kenot support dolby??? just didnt expect it to be like that........need to re check the specs.........

i think u right bout the HBO...but sports seems ok to me.........didnt get to watch much though........to really comment

1 funny thing to me is..i thought for eg Astro supersports HD....i thought its the normal supersport channel programmes in HD but actually its not..it actually runs diff programmes

another thing is..normal SD channels look clearer than b4!

Even you keep the decoder by paid RM80, the installer will take back the smart card also.....
BTW by paid extra RM20, you will enjoy the HD channels that the programs are not the same as the SD channels even both channels are the same.
I refer to SuperSport and 2 documentary channels, not sure about HBO HD.

yeah this is wat i meant...didnt realise the programmes on the HD channels are actually diff fr the same SD ones.........

HBO i heard same but 1 hour lag.......

This is my experience installing Astro B.yond:

15-12-2009: Registered Astro B.yond via CS
16-12-2009: 1 day later. Telemarketing called me to confirm
27-12-2009: Complain to CS
28-12-2009: T&C Briefing
Now: Waiting

In the T&C briefing:

She said that the installer will take the decoder, dish, remote control (even non-original accepted), they didn't mention taking the audio/video cable.
In 10 CALENDAR DAYS the installer will call me to make an installation date. Well how many days I wait already... I live in Sabah..

when telemarketing called they said 10 CALENDAR DAYS I CAN ENJOY BYOND....i thought i heard wrongly...so i ask 10 calendar or working days...and issit 10 days for installer to call or to enjoy byond.........he said 10days can enjoy byond dy

as it turn outs....it took about 11 calendar days which is acceptable.......btw i live in PJ

to be fair, most installers working overtime..they called my fren on xmas day to install too

yday, they came to my house at 8 pm to install

Full HD refers to video not audio. See above.

Yup i know FULL HD refers to video n not audio...........so wat do u think are the potential causes for the below probs?

1) volume on SD channels is soft...however this only happens after changing fr HD channels to SD channels...if i on it n tune straight to SD channel, volume is ok.......weird???????? (would it help if i connect the audio using the normal white n red cables?)

2) for audio settings only can set to analogue n not dolby.....(i suppose this is coz digital audio out is not connected to any where?)......

Since the box now is very small, can just bring the whole box go back. I read somewhere in this thread,  this new box can use with old dics.
