Ops, I'm asking in wrong thread. Already got byond in my living room. I got another astro in my daughter's room with hdtv, just want to get better decoder.

I got it when I subscribed to 2nd decoder. Did ask around before no joy... couldn't get it. Even astro center didn't know it existed! And I'm talking about Oct or Nov time frame.

However I don't think so having component improves PQ that much. At least from my eyes. However I think the SD channels are better on this one compared to BYond.

when the ESPN HD will show??can give me a date??

managed to get installed byond this evening, HD channel looks good. but I noticed that the SD channel is not as good as the old decoder . new byond decoder don't have the S-vidoe out and the component out don't seem to work properly is like distorted blue holizotal line in the middle of the screen . pls check.

My installer didn't care if I gave him a much older decoder but he make sure I gave him the simcard with the right serial number.

Hard to answer. But mostly a lot of information we can get in this thread about byond if anyone read back from page 1 actually.

Well lets face it...if DirecTV in US were able to compress HD channels to an average of 6Mbps at 1440x1080i....astro can do it too...not just that, it might be 1280x1080i..not 1920x1080i or 1440x1080i lol

Few forumers was asking me where to get this ssmart AV-RF converter & where to get it..Well I got it from a shop in Puchong Perdana nxt to PP Maju supermarket & for the AV splitter, (The small black little thingy, I got it from another shop in Tmn Wawasan...Here's the converter & the splitter for those need xtra RCA port from the Astro DTU.

Where to get the coaxial to optical cable converter (toslink) in KL, for the connection from astro box set to my home theater? Tried to look for this gatget last weekend, no where to be found.

Yeah! Already got my Astro B.yond on yesterday! My area is Miri, Sarawak. The installer said they just start install it since 2 days ago. The picture quality is really good, but too bad so far dun hav any live soccer match on the 831.....

By the way, in the installation setting, there is options to choose to strecth or pillar box to convert the normal channel to wide screen. Which 1 should do better job? I am using 40" Full HD LCD.
