The entire Learning Package should be in HD, in my opinion. But the last I heard, Mythbusters Seasons 1-5 were not shot in HD.
Well, the new episodes are in HD, plus there's a lot more HD shows on Discovery HD apart from Mythbusters.

You can split the composite signal to get SD video. You can split the HD signal as well but you'd need a HDMI splitter that is HDCP capable as well as an IR repeater for the remote.
Agreed. Also, the practical length for a good quality HDMI cable is 15m. Not sure if HDMI repeaters exist.

I think they should also speed up the implementation of the features supported by this decoder. As we already know that this box runs on some sort of Linux, programming it should at their (Astro's) fingertips. Note that there is a button called Apps on the remote, I wonder what sort of applications will be provided in the future... My wish list:
1) Video files playback via USB on all commonly supported formats at up to full HD resolution
2) Audio files playback, not limited to mp3/wma only but to lossless formats like wav/flac/etc
3) Photo viewer
4) Some basic file management (copy, move, delete, rename, etc) for the USB drive
5) Internet surfing via network port
6) Digital net radio streaming via internet
7) more stuff...
For sure one of the function is recording to USB hard disk. Manuals already state that as a future feature. I wish they will put in a streaming server into the decoder so can use the network port to relay to media extender boxes and PCs. That will solve the problem for people needing alot of cables running around.

owh that means..currently i have sports + docu + normal package
i will have only astro supersports HD + ESPN HD + Discovery HD + History HD...no HBO ??
How you get Discovery HD? I want!
Actually, the current package is ASSP HD, HBO HD, Nat Geo HD and History HD. ESPN HD coming soon.

Based on my observations, HBO HD does not seem upscaled. Remember that these are shot on film and not HD cameras. Hence the 'softer' look. NatGeo and History HD are specifically shot on HD cameras and are meant for broadcast, thus they will seem sharper to the eyes. Sports are also shot on HD cams....
