Commission charges are no longer applicable to outstation cheques for ALL BANKS under the new CTCS system.
Did you mean that your application was successful 2 months ago and you used your cc online but the physical cc has not arrived yet? That sounds weird. The cc must have been missing somewhere. You may contact the bank immediately.
*
i did contacted the bank twice. first time, customer service said will send a replacement card. 2nd time two weeks later, customer service asked to wait 3 weeks for card arrival. For now, i using AMEX as the SCB cc benefit not tempting enough for me to use as retail transaction.

Benefits of SCB Plat cc aren't that great. It's just a normal cc giving you 1x point for every RM1 spent and no cash rebate is given. However, if you use it for overseas transactions, you'll be given 3x choice points instead.

Its requirement for Plat cc is one of the lowest among all the card issuers in Malaysia. It only requires an annual income of RM60k if I am not mistaken. A few weeks ago, somebody here informed that he managed to get an SCB Plat cc with a CL of RM43k while having a monthly income of RM3k only!

It would be better to sign up Plat cc because it will give you an instant cash back of RM100 upon approval, compared to RM50 given to new Gold cc.

You will be asked/shown an additional sheet of paper outlining the cc promo that you will be signing up under and they will ask you to sign that up in additional to the form that you fill in. In that sheet of paper, it will state whether the annual fee is free for you or not.

Congratulations and you can enjoy using Amex gold cc FINALLY. biggrin.gif

MBB is famous for sending pre-approved cards to customers. I made a 1-month FD placement with MBB a few months ago for SUKUK, ASW and ASM reserve purpose, and MBB immediately sent me a pre-approved Amex gold charge card. I called and requested MBB to cancel the card, but the CS officer persuaded me to keep the charge card in my wallet, informing that I could get a laptop bag by charging RM50 only and I could terminate the card later on. After charging RM50 and receiving the laptop bag, I cancelled the charge card without hesitation. 2 months later, I applied for Amex gold cc personally as the benefits are much better than the charge card.

No. Existing customers won't get the RM50/RM100 cash, as what a cc agent informed me earlier.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. There must be some hidden costs or upfront charges.

It is stated in a 1-page simple agreement form (attached with application form), that all SCB CCs are given 1st AF waiver.

It doesn't matter whether it is free for 1 or 2 years. For me, I wanna make sure that my cards are ALWAYS FOC throughout the period of usage. biggrin.gif

Hi guys...I need help...

I intend to apply for a credit card soon solely for buying a xbox 360 and only that. Anyone knows which credit card does not charge an annual fee? Not really into the perks as well because it's just a one time purchase and the card will probably rot away in my wallet.

Thanks in advance

For CIMB Group, it is not only CIMB MC. All CIMB/DA MC and VISA (except CIMB Enrich) cards are free for life.
