Theoretically, maximum download speed you can get:
4Mbps = 4096Kbps
4096Kbps = 512KBps

Minimum download speed you should get (on LOCAL TMnet server, not speedtest.net or ANY OTHER SERVER) is 80% (or it is 70% or 90% I donnu) is around:

80% of 4Mbps (4096Kbps/512KBps) = 3.3Mbps (3278Kbps/409.6KBps)

*70% or 90% you do the math

Not sure about the upload speed though.

Its actually impossible to get to a 100% theoretical speed (at least from DSL). If let say for 4Mbps, the theoretical speed is 512KBps, the real life maximum is probably around 500KBps.

I'm quite unsure when it comes to 4Mbps to be honest but for 1Mbps of which you'll have 128KBps, you will only get around 110-115KBps.

Possible over 100% if only capped higher than 4Mbps. hahahaha

any chance a bad modem can cause unstable DSL?

Cause just now my D-link DSL520B keep hang and i saw the DSL light is blinking one. Than i take the TM riger modem to replace and i saw the DSL light is stable no blinking @_@

Bad modem, or bad cable. Check the DSL line stats to get a better sense of what's going on.

Line stat? U mean SNR ar?

Cause when my d-link hang it can't log in the modem status.... Need try or wait only can in.

just doing a quick survey, when you guys dl torrent from public tracker with good seeds, what kinda speed u guys can reach?
my speedtest is showing around 4.4mb, and dsl cap is 5mb
but my torrent speed max only around 330kbps and its not stable, normally it'll only stable around 250-280kbps
i'm using utorrent 2.0beta anyway

During this fakap cable outage 218.111 is a premium ip got better speed compare to 115.XXX

I can max out full speed now but not 24/7 but up and down lah but considered downloadable compare to 115.XXX totally fakap

If like that, that not your streamyx problem anyway, the 520b is not setting correct,

i use 520b also, they supplied with cd to setup, use that cd to setup first than u can enjoy internet

mine is stable now stuck at ip 110.159

just good all connection but streamying some europe web is lag grrr

but is ok on youtube and other download hahaa

guys is the speedtest.net & the speedtest.tm.net.my has problems?
becoz each time i test it it will start from 1500kbps den finish @ 30000++kbps..
