You can try to pm silencer (sorry ya bro, you are the only 1080p I sold). Or you can read his review in my thread, pros and cons.

bro bysquashy, between BX6M (using s-video) and PX5M (using composite) which one better for Astro. Have you made side by side comparison?

I have no doubt to say that the one with s-video connection has better picture quality.

QUOTE(ymjay @ Apr 25 2007, 03:14 PM)
just wanna ask....
personally, i havent seen a 1080p movie or game on a LCD before so i just want  to know whether 1080p will make any significant difference to a 40 inch LCD TV? (if compared to 720p or 1080i)

its because a SONY bravia X (40) is 15k ++  compared to a SONY V series which is about 7k for the same size...
Any other brand that is just as good? (like SHARP )
any opinion is greatly appreciated

cheers
Samsung 46incher at 1080p (LA46F71B..model maybe) is at RM 9k in Sabah, Malaysia.. if 40incher 1080p available .. should be much cheaper?... maybe RM 6 to 7k..?

However samsung is unable to do 1:1 on some pc/hdmi inputs.. as it overscans the pictures... no options on the tv to select 1:1

biggrin.gif If Astro Max did have component atleast... it would have been a slightly better buy. Atleast then theres a chance of getting HD broadcasts.

Optical output? That's digital audio. Strange for Astro to offer this when they could not offer the said digital sound in its programme. Marketing gimmick again?

Yup.....the quality is awesome in 720p or 1080i/p, but do not expect that it is a sgood as the HD-DVD and BluRay movies' quality...though

It is also possible to download hd-dvd and blu-ray movies by nefarious means... but you would need a rather beefy dual core cpu or later gen graphic card (8800/8600/8500) for that supports H.264 decoding and HDCP for playback
