digital cables like hdmi ... unlike analog vga cables .. does not requirer as stringent quality... 2m hdmi cables cost RM30 or so.. and prices will fall as more flood the market.

3 other dell 24 incher 1920x1200 displays..

2x 24incher and 3x 17 incher 3840x2224 res..beat westinghouse's quad 1080p by 64 lines... credit where credits due... 30 inchers none yet


For me plasma refresh like a 60/65Hz crt ... 50/52 inchers are just 1/2 of 1080p pixels for similiar price of the 46v. The rare 1080p plasmas are 2x price... all could not stand the refresh.. not to mention, plasma are power hogs.

coming 120Hz LCD even better... but 60Hz does fine by me...

for those that want to know more about the bravia x2500 (JP) series.. advantage over the v2500 series or x200A, panel same contrast as x200A (but v2500 higher, 1800:1), 3 HDMI input, component/vga at 1080p/D5, support xxYCC colour, and have the newer bravia pro engine with DRC-MFv2.5 for non 1080p signals ... I guess the rest of Asia are getting the short change in specs.. while paying more.

both sony 32v or 32s series are both 1366x768 pixels... no full 1080p HD .... so too are the KLV-40V200A and KLV-46V200A models.. only with one hdmi connection... how about dell 2707, 2407 for 1920x1200 pixels

Full HD as in full 720p is also consider HD res. I do not believe there are 32 inch LCD panels/tv of 1920x1080 (non CES 2007) res at the moment. However 1920x1200 monitors can be from 22, 23, 24, 25.5 and 27 (samsung and dell) inch, cheapest being tthe dell 2407wfp.

B.T.W. sony 1080p tv are known to be able to do 1:1 mapping.

left... bravia 46v2500 at 1080p (native 1080p/2.07Mpixels)... right ... standard dvd (expanded to 8.5Megapixels)

x-men 3 blu-ray through ps3, bravia 46v2500 equalvalent to bravia 46x200A.. without the dumbo ears and floating plexi

1080i and 1080p has slight difference if it is on a 1080p display... a 1366x768 display cannot display native 1080i/(1080p. if able to) but down samples it to fit the display.

1366x768 is a very odd "in between" resolution to get the mega pixel above one million...maybe

watchout for banding (more like uneven backlight/diffusion) issues.. not colour gradient banding like the dell monitors

d-terminal inputs (etc d3-720p, d4-1080i, d5-1080p)... direct compatibility with RGB component RCA inputs.. there are adapters for it... buiding my own from salvage components

Unlikely a native 1080p display .... as Panasonic just demoed the 42" prototype in CES earlier this month

Additional info for those looking for braviaX or other LCD TV.

Input technology like HDMI 1.3 with deep colour or xvYCC/xvColour (X2500 series in japan, 40,46.52) does not add extra benefit to present panels except for a better colour look up as the panels are limited to 256 shades (8bit) and the ccfl backlight. Sony new 70inch x-series 10bit panel (1024 shades) with led backlit ... for now maybe one displays of the first to exceed the RGB colours.

dont even have to waste that much money... normal red/white/yellow rca cables will do too (just dont mixup the colours when plugging in) ... cost RM3 or below

Free over the air Digital HD broadcast in Japan (implimented recently) ... anazing clarity.. can make out individual hair, skin bumps ...even the fabric lines of the cloths on news reporters... not to mentioned multiple subtitles/audio options... without analog shadow...embeded also news/weather/sports/multitude pages report/advert/market shares... with interactive selecting options.. truely utilize to the max the bandwidth

update... the digital broadcast in Japan hd is in 1080i

KLV-40V200A is only a 1366x768 pixels display, while KLV-40X200A is a 1080p display... wait for newer models with half the price... maybe a long wait...

Mostly ...Plasma from 42 to 103 inch.. LCD probably only 26 and 32 inch 1366x768 models

more or less the US price for a 1366x768 res. sammy 40incher

the only HDMI 1.3 feature bravia X have is the xvYCC colour, but current 8bit panel used does not support a wider colour variation.. so it is somewhat redundant.

Japan's KDL-40x2500 is even half the stated price of the Taiwan's price.. that would around be rm 6.35k
