i asked digi today..they say need blackberry phone tat is original set only can use their service other AP set cant use.. izit true?

no. all my blackberrys' are AP set. supporting celcom, digi, and maxis.

i already clear all diginet at my bb, but sometime it also charge my digiwap too..or any software for bb is use diginet??coz i download many 3rd party software like opera and bolt to suft net.

Yes, you dont have to take a Digi Voice plan if you dont want to, just that the rate will be slightly higher than taking their voice plan.

how much will it cost to call a UK number using the digi blackberry smart plan? is it the same rate as normal postpaid line by digi?

This is where DiGi got it all wrong. How can they give only BIS access without the option to use APN. Even Maxis hotlink prepaid BIS has different packages, with the cheapest package having BIS only while the more expensive packages comes with BIS and APN.

Looks like they still need to figure out how this works before they can play with the big boys.

yeah, i prefer dg can use apn to access with a quota let say few GB rather thn the so call unlimited bis, wat for only unlimited for bis ?thts useless. is better to get a unlimited data plan to work with a smartfon.

Is it true that we are not suppose to download applications/themes from our bb with smart plan? I went to digi centre today, because when i first activated the plan, the cs did not remind me about the 24 hrs activation, i use it the same day at night when i found out i am able to surf the net (couldnt before that), but only found out later that i was being charged rm60+. They say i shouldnt have use it within 24 hrs even it was activated, but the cs told me i am able to use within 24hrs once it is activated. I ask them to waived it for me, but they say only the those shown as blackberry.net , not those with diginet, i told them i did not change anything so why would it be diginet all of a sudden? then he said it is because i downloaded something when i am not suppose to, as the plan only let us use msn, facebook and other "social activities"! but the strange thing is, i download alot of applications and themes, why only that day being charged? And in the end, they ask me to pay the whole thing, including those blackberry.net! Anyone experienced it before? they said i could post a complaint, but it might take very long to process, and ended my service being cancelled if i do not pay the bill!

i'm having the same situation with you. i was charged for the web browsing on the 1st and 2nd day after switching to digi on this blackberry smart plan. i called the CS and i was told the blackberry service wasn't activated yet. thus i was charged for the web browsing. however i screwed her up and ask her to waive these charges because as a consumer, i sign-up the smart plan and this is the only i know, web browsing is FREE...i don't bother when you activated my service because it is digi problem, not mine..at the end the CS ask me to raise a report to CS again once i receive my statement on 1st april. not sure what's gonna happen and i'm definitely not paying a cent for web browsing.

the smart plan includes BIS, IM, social network and web browsing. This is what digi has been advertised to the public. there is no way for digi to charge the consumer on web browsing!!

I believe so, it is pretty stupid to say it is "unlimited" if there are so many limitation, and their excuses are funny, they say because i downloaded things like applications or themes thats y i am being charged, but i do that not only the first day, i do that almost everyday, why am i only being charged for the first day? Then they tell me the 24hrs activation thing, and kinda threaten me by saying my line might be cut if i raised a report and they unable to give me a result before next bill. I was like, it takes so long to look at a complaint? Then he asked me to think about it again, i came home and searched around, i found that they usually give you deduction on the next bill. So i am definately going to stand my point and make them pay themselves the whole gprs thing, doesnt care if it is blackberry.net or diginet items...

Added on March 9, 2010, 11:57 pmjust chat with digi chat, the cs will pass on the report to the billing department and they would contact soon, also have confirmed that digistrm as APN is free, and can leave as it is for as long as you want without being charged a single cent!

y dg wanna giv pple so much problem? they could make it easier by using juz one apn 'diginet' for all services. wat for to hav digiwap, diginet, digistrm. 3gdgnet.. blah blah blah. blackberry.net bis apn is useless. after 3mths i go change to data plan use with smartfon. baibai bb.

That is Digi's problem. Not BB. Other postpaid BB does not have this issue.

i GOT my bold 9000...now using maxis prepaid..thinking of changing to postpaid..and wanna use it in Bold 9000...so now's the chance...

Smartplan. DG30 rates are more expensive and you have an RM30 commitment on voice.

Smartplan rates are cheaper and you have RM0 commitment on voice

Yes you should be able to MNP to subscribe... best plan on the market

All telco's have their advantages & disadvantages. DiGi is the cheapest for BB but no tethering.

Smart plan - You pay RM58 for the BIS & if you make calls & sms etc, you pay accordingly.

DG30 + Blackberry unlimited - You pay RM58 for BIS + RM30 minimum commitment fee = RM88 minimum every month.

Suggest you to take Smart plan because if you take DG30 + BB unlimited, your call charges = RM0.20/min.
Smart plan - RM0.15/min for calls.
