Hi everyone ~ I know this is a bit off topic, but I want to ask about HK Standard of Living.
I have a job offer to go to HK and the salary will be about 28k-30k HKD/mth. Roughly speaking, the standard of living will be equivalent to how many RM/mth living in Malaysia? I've been to HK for holiday but we all know that holiday is different from living full time ... |

I am curious...
Do people travel around HK + Shenzhen + Guangzhou as well? HK + Macau or HK + Shenzhen are common, but what about Guangzhou as well? |

I wanna try the 200 km/h CRH1 train from Shenzhen to Guangzhou Another option is to take MTR intercity from Hung Hom, but then......i may miss the high speed train. |

QUOTE(deodorant @ May 7 2010, 08:27 AM) Hi everyone ~ I know this is a bit off topic, but I want to ask about HK Standard of Living. I think that is a very reasonable salary. Cut room rent around 5-8k per month, 3 meal per day should be around HKD$100+, transport Octopus should be around $100-200 per month, that's a whooping saving of HKD 17-19k equivalent to RM 8-10k. What job is that I also want to work haha. Btw HKD 17k saving is a lot because HK branded electronics and clothing is cheaper than here!!I have a job offer to go to HK and the salary will be about 28k-30k HKD/mth. Roughly speaking, the standard of living will be equivalent to how many RM/mth living in Malaysia? I've been to HK for holiday but we all know that holiday is different from living full time ... |

@shoduken >> nothing very grand lah, management post in the finance line.
@antaeus >> yeah it really is a lifetime opportunity. I think I will take the job. Still feels a bit @_@ though to leave everything behind here ... Hmmm this probably isn't the right forum to ask this in, but work-visa will be taken care of by company. According to this link, "The Hong Kong government has recently changed the law to automatically entitle your spouse to a work visa once your work visa has been approved. We can assist you with the application procedures for your spouse’s visa." --> anyone know if this is true or whether it's been changed or etc? Need to bring my tai tai over too hehe. |
