I'm currently studying in Hong Kong and spent almost every weekends traveling around Hong Kong.

Had been to Macau twice and actually found Macau to be a better tourist destination than Hong Kong.

Anyway I would like to help those people who are planning for a trip to Hong Kong and Macau. Feel free to drop me an email cenziwei@gmail.com or read my blog http://cenziwei.blogspot.com/ and feel free to comment. Cheers!

Ko Wah hotel.... located very close to Senado Square ( historical center of Macau )
200MYR double room! 3-star hotel.

Macau 3D2N is better... There're LOTS of places to go.

Song shan cable car, black beach, the southern section of Macau island are those tourist spots I found to be awesome but often people will just bypass these places.

i did browse through best western Taipa but it's not a nice location.
Sun Sun is good for bigger room i guess, as for the pic on their website, the std room is so old n nt attractive. or they hv been renovated?
Lord Stow'w cafe? mind to share the location with me? if it's sumwher nearby definitely i wil drop by to taste the tart.. owhhh.. my favourite! =drooling=  biggrin.gif

mingle on the wing is at sheung wan right? dun it cause inconvenience?
*
Lord Stow'w cafe is at the south-western section of Macau island. 路環. IMHO it served the best Portuguese egg tart in Macau. Arguable better than Margaret ( close to Lisboa ).

I don't know the English name of 路環. Basically it's hard to find English name of any locations in Macau because it's always written in Portuguese.

But it's very convenient to go there by public bus. 26A from the bus terminal near Lisboa.

And don't forget to visit the church located in 路環. It's damn famous.

Coloane (路環 Louwan)

Added on March 9, 2010, 4:08 pm

Agreed!

People will just think Macau is just Macau Peninsula (澳門半島) only! They didn't travel to attractions in Taipa and Cotai.
*
Thanks for telling me! Cheers...

Most of people just know that there're lots of casinos in Macau with the Ruins of St Paul's being the best landmark in Macau. Other than that, nothing else

Anyway I would post more details about Macau on my blog..

I particularly like Coloane..

hac sa beach is worth going. The beach is nice. But not worth staying for more than one hour. Last week when I went there I found only one person swimming although the weather is quite good ( quite warm also )

best pork chop.. hmm certainly not tai lei.... taipa got one, sam hou lei

ouh okay, means jz go there n hv a look wil do??  smile.gif  how long d journey takes frm senado square to hac sa beach?

huh?? tai lei isn't d best?
sam hou lei.. wil take note on that.. can i hv d chinese name for that?

btw, is ngong peng nice? plan to visit ther too.. after ngong peng will drop by citygate outlets.. yahoo!! lots thing to shop there?

also, is d rickshaw sightseeing bus worth to go?
*
Hac Sa Beach is just famous for its natural black sand. It should take more than 20 minutes. I suggest you visit Coloane ( egg tart and church ). From Colonae to hac sa beach only takes 10 minutes at most.

Sam Hou Lei = 新好利, this restaurant also sells bird nest egg tart, can try it out. It's located in Taipa. On the street just beside Food Street.

Ngong Ping worth going. Depends on the weather. When the sky is blue, the big buddha will look very nice. When I went, it's very foggy, couldn't even see the big buddha from ngong ping.

Citygate = selling genuine branded goods at cheap price.

Rickshaw is designed for tourists... good..... for those who don't like traveling on foot. or want a rest. Cheers!

Just went back from HK for a 5D4N trip. I stayed at Bridal Tea House Yau Ma Tei, really will not recommend this hotel bacause it's dirty. U can see black spot at the tiny toilet. The bed smile bad. But the location is very good.

I managed to visit Ngong Ping 360,Ocean Park,The Peak + Peak Tram,Golden Bauhinia Square,Repulse Bay,Times Square,Harbour City,Ladies' Market,Avenue of Stars + Symphony of Lights and Madame Tussauds.

Ngong Ping is a beautiful island which worth to go. Repulse Bay also is a beautiful beach.

Hope u gays enjoy ur trip at HK too.

may I know whether Tai O is a nice place to go? Plan to go Ngong Ping and then to Tai O since it is just next to this, is it worth to go? and how long it takes from Ngong Ping to Tai O?
*
more than 20 minutes. If you had been to Malaysian fishing village like the famous Sekinchan, I think Tai O isn't really worth visiting.

I had been there twice. have no time to write journals about my trips to Tai O on my blog sleep.gif

If you really visit Tai O, please keep in mind the possibility of getting to see Chinese pink dolphins is super low.

I would like to ask what time does normally all the ride stops and normally people leave? cause last time i went there was during christmas which had a night parade of some sort and fireworks etc. Anyway any suggestions on what to do , and what time to actually leave ? and will i miss out on anything?
*
I really would like to help you. But your questions seem to be vague. Sorry perhaps it's my problem

You're asking what you should do in Hong Kong?

Almost all the MTR lines stop at 1am.

i want to finish early and maybe skip the fireworks? cause i would like to go tungchung for city outlet since its just 1 stop away and i wouldnt want to waste time to take mtr just to go there again haha.
*
I heard that the fireworks is the main attraction of disneyland! lol.

I'm not gonna spend 360HKD for a single entry and planned to watch disneyland fireworks at discovery bay! it's free of charge! lol

hi guys,

i wanted to visit hongkong during early May this year but from what i see from the net, it was stated that the weather at HK during May is hot and humidity can hit 90%. Is it that bad?
*
The weather in Hong Kong is rather unpredictable this year. It was 11 Celsius two days ago and it's 21 Celsius now. My advice is that you should bring at least a jacket. Cheers

I am curious...

Do people travel around HK + Shenzhen + Guangzhou as well?

HK + Macau or HK + Shenzhen are common, but what about Guangzhou as well?
*
I was just back from Guangzhou last week. It takes about three and a half hours to go from Hong Kong to Guangzhou by bus and the bus fare is 80HKDs.

However, Guangzhou is not worth visiting at the moment. Construction is everywhere.

Yeah but how long does it take to go from Mongkok to Lowu Border?

How to ensure that I would definitely buy a "hard seat" ticket so that I don't have to stand throughout the journey?

I wanna go to Guangzhou again!

Please enlighten me. Cheers!
