I think your itinerary is just fine, not too packed.

Maybe you want to spend some time in HK Island on Day 6 and include Citygate Outlet on Day 4?

Just a suggestion:

Day 1 > you may go to avenue of stars & symphony of lights during evening

Day 3 > you may go to Ngong Ping (half day is enuff) then, you can go to Tung Chung CityGate. Cause to get to Ngong Ping, you must go to Tung Chung. So you will not waste anytime.

Currently, there is a promotion from MTR whereby when you buy a one day tourist travel pass. You will get the discount for Ngong Ping cable car, DisneyLand, Ocean Park & Peak Tram with Peak entrance. Check this: http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/whatsnew/valuepack1003.html

This place really packed...IMHO, if you have watched this on TV or Internet before, don't go there, no differet at all. The light show started at 8pm, end about 15 mins.

Day 3 > you may go to Ngong Ping (half day is enuff) then, you can go to Tung Chung CityGate. Cause to get to Ngong Ping, you must go to Tung Chung. So you will not waste anytime.

I went there on 27/05/2010, holishit...can't imagine so many people visit there. If we didn't take the crystal cable car package @ HKS2900 for 10 peoples which can bypass the queing, i can't imagine how long we have to wait to get into the cable car. Yeah, if you like shopping, u can spend some time at Tung Chung CityGate after you come down from cable car. It's the last station of that MTR line.

By the way, better train yourself before going there, everyday you have to walk, stand, walk, stand. Walk on the roads, stand in MTR. The common knowledge of using any escalator in the MTR station is stand on the right hand side. Left hand is for people to overtake one...lol

Hong Kong is not a place to relax yourself. Slow pork is not welcomed here. Everyday is rush hour, everywhere is packed with people.

I prefer Macau much much more than HK. Venetian Hotel thumbup.gif .

Since Citygate is very near to the airport, you may go there after you check out the hotel on Day 5. Then you can go somewhere else on Day 3.

Hi all bros and sisters,

I'm going to Hong Kong end of this month, this will be my first time to HK. Therefore, i have tried to read as much info as i can, briefly browse through all the pages in this thread, find it very useful especially on hotel and places of interest to cover. and some food stuff also.

However, i need some help on hotel recommendation after i shortlisted based on the what i found in this thread.

Please let me know which of the below is most convenient for travelling purpose and of course cost effective.

One more info that i need but hardly can find from this thread is what is the most convenient + cost effective way to travel from Airport to my hotel. I will be carrying 1 hand and 1 big luggage. Meant to continue my flight to the states after stop over for 5 days.

thanks so much!

a. Shortlisted hotel - lean towards Eaton since from the photos the room looks better, but if can get cheaper room then better since wont spend much time in room
1. Eaton hotel (HKD 770)
2. The Cityview (HKD 670)
3. Royal View (HKD 670)
4. Dorsett Seaview Hotel (HKD 480)
5. Metropark Kowloon (HKD 680)

b. best and cost effective way from Airport to Nathan Rd. will be carrying one ~ 20kg big luggage and one standard hand carry size luggage.

c. from the thread i read alot recommended places, i have copy down some info. but since i will be there only 3-4 days, can tell me what's the top 5 landmark place that i must go? after this only i will check out other places listed in this thread.

You can take HK Airport Express (link 1, link 2) from the airport to Central and take MTR from there.

For the top 5 landmark place, it depends on your preference but you can check these out: - Hong Kong: 10 Things to Do in 24 Hours

Alternatively, you can plan your itinerary using Discover Hong Kong Itinerary Planner.

Gud afternoon Northasian.Sorry if my question annoy you because I'm sure you have rcvd tons of questions abt HK.

My name is June and I'm planning to visit HK this Aug. Actually, working trip but I combine with leisure laugh.gif

This is what we plan to do;

Day 01
Arrive by MAS at 1315hrs. Chk in hotel. We stay in Hotel Benito,Tsim Tsa Tsui. After chk in go to Avenue of Star and surrounding for phostopstop. Later that nite visit to Ladies Market.(or any other market worth our money?? I mean worth to shop)

Day 02
Visit Disney land and Citigate outlet (we don't intend to spend so much time in Disneyland. A little bit photo session here and there will be enough for us.)

Day 03
Visit The Peak, Victoria Park, Bouhimia Square, Longest Escalator and Ocean Park.

Day 04
Day trip to Macau if time permitted other wise you can recommend us what else we shud include.

Day 05
Flight departure back to KUL at 1445hrs.

Our plan is to visit as many places as possible. Shopping is also my top priority.Heheheheh!! I'm looking for stuff like Adidas,Levi's,perfume, cosmetics, bags. We don't follow any tours. We just take the train, tram or buses.

Do you think our programme above is good??

QUOTE(northasian @ Nov 6 2009, 10:44 AM)
From this Version 2, I would try to post & update some current/upcoming local promotions/offers under the 2nd post in Page 1 of this thread.

Anyone who have any info on hand are welcome to post up as well~

Cheers!
