For public bank yes you can.
You can have Public Bank day2day debit card link with saving account, and Manchester United Debit Card, and PB-Esso Mobil Visa Debit Card, and PB Visa Electron, and PB UTAR Debit MasterCard, and PB TARC Debit MasterCard, and PB ING Debit MasterCard Paypass Card

ATM limit can be changed to max rm5k/day.

rm5k included all transaction at atm (transfer, withdraw, purchase topup, touch 'n go)
means if u already transfer a money rm4k at atm, u can only withdraw rm1k, then u cant topup touch 'n go for the day.

while atm withdraw limit is rm1.5k
for rm5k on 1 time, u need to withdraw rm1.5k then rm1.5k then rm1k then rm1k (4x transaction, so for maybank non-unlimited withdraw option, u already maxed out free withdraw transaction per month)

except for maybank platinum debit card, u can set the max to rm10k/day.

YES. u will have different account and each account will have their card.

either u linked the debit card with current acc (coz u wont interruped the savings acc), or like bingozero replied, use debit card with their own acc - not related to savings acc.

Hi,

I have a question. I'm going to Italy next month and I do not wish to bring too many cash along. The problem is that I don't have any credit card. My gf has applied for maybank visa debit. I wonder if I can borrow her card while I'm traveling in Italy for visa payment or ATM withdrawal? Is there any procedure I need to follow?

Thanks!

The other day, I wanted to buy a camera with my Maybank Visa debit card. However I was shocked when the salesperson told me that he would charge X% because of some new rulings from the bank. Could someone please verify this?

its not the bank's rules. its just the bank will charge them X% for each transaction via the terminal. and they want customer to bear the cost ~

since the cashier inform u early, u can choose not to use card to pay. or just go find other shop that accept card without any charges.

New rulings from the bank ? Please tell him or her to show you the official letter from the bank regarding this newly introduced ruling.

why not go to bank open an account and get your own debit card?
if you use yo fren card, let say something bad happens, it would be troublesome.

I assume you are talking about Public Bank Verified by VISA ? Your account will only be locked when you've made three failed attempts. Anyway, worry not. If your debit card has indeed been blocked, you can unblock it by calling Public Bank customer service hotline. This Public Bank customer service hotline can be found in their website. You will be asked a few questions before they can unblock the debit card for you. If you are the rightful owner of the debit card, sure you'll have no problem answering all the questions the CS is going to ask you.
