I opt for Option 2 for Basic Saving Acc and get a Debit Card (with Visa logo). No charges, but linited usage.

Not stated in M2U. I inform the officer and saw her clicked the option at her computer screen. I was expecting the ATM card. Only realised its a debit card since it has Visa Logo.

Ok. So their policy is not the same as Public Bank ... so under what circumstances will they issue the yellow ATM card ? Anyone knows ?

which bank offer free annual/service fee same as maybank Cherry Card?and can view my transactions/account through online since i'm under 18..

Will get a savings account on cimb with atm card & online function to check my transaction when ppl transfer fund to me..  

I used my HL Bank Debit card to book hotel (Penang XXX rock) via a portal (cant remember the name).
their rejected and only accepted posb bank debit card for online booking.
the hotel also did not accept my HL Bank Debit card for security deposit and only accepted posb bank debit card after argue with them.

gosh, that's really defeat the purpose!

This even make us more risky than having a credit card. 
i dont think i am able to convert my debit card to the conventional atm card?

its the debit card that unsecured but for me who can't apply for credit card, its ok la to use debit card.

u can even use that card for swipe at place that shows visa logo

its not the bank's rules. its just the bank will charge them X% for each transaction via the terminal. and they want customer to bear the cost ~

since the cashier inform u early, u can choose not to use card to pay. or just go find other shop that accept card without any charges.

why not go to bank open an account and get your own debit card?
if you use yo fren card, let say something bad happens, it would be troublesome.

Haven't come across anything that discusses debit vs credit cards, if such a discussion is even meaningful, but I'll contribute a few cents. For me, not necessarily in any order:

- debit cards don't have that RM50 tax
- credit card fees are more than debit cards
- I use not-linked-to-anything debit cards for internet purchases - I only deposit what I expect to spend plus some
- I have no intention of using the credit facilities
- for my type of purchases, credit card rewards are not better than debit cards
- credit card applications ask too many questions
- debit cards can do everything I need, except one situation - hotels don't accept debit cards as deposit when you check in

hello i am new at debit card.I just sign up for pb esso debit card few days ago. i would like to buy thing from ebay once i receive my debit card.So i would like to ask how to and hope u guys can help me out. Do i need to tell my bank i need the card to buy stuff online? Do i need to tell them to activate the online balance checking(from pb website)? or is automaticaly available?

what a paypal? is buying stuff from ebay the same as paying airasia ticket from website using credit card?(cause i have been paying a few time and i find out is easy.)so if is the same then it will be easy for me to buy thing from ebay.

I know this is abit off topic,but hope u guys can help. When i was trying to register ebay.i found out that it need 18 and above to register. Can i fake my age? does it affect me from receiving or buying thing? And if i register at malaysia ebay.I still can purchase stuff from international ebay right? oh ya, I'm 17 this year.
