Nop never call them... no point calling them when I know they going to give me the same answer again. Furthermore, their staff cant communicate well in English have a hard time talking to them..

does that mean they have stock but reserve for the postpaid?

and i asked that since its not available, in the end i might not be able to get the phone at all eventhough i have already booked...she said eventually u will get it, 1 to 2 months

Yesterday there one chinese young chap lansi told me that now we had to wait 60 days for iPhone 3GS. Located at Midvalley Maxis. Opposite machines.

i went to sunway maxis centre and was told to prepare to wait 2 months due to worldwide shortage, which i think it's a big lie by maxis cos i was at thailand last week. i went to mbk shopping centre and saw iphone freely sold by independent mobile phone seller without any contract from 30,000 to 32,000 bath. the best price i manage to find for 32gb hongkong set(unlocked set) is for 30,500 baht (roughly about RM3,150) , US set 30,000 (locked set) baht. almost every mobile phone dealer has ready stock. the only think that held my purchase is the warranty issue but that's not the point. the point is how come even small time phone seller in thailand manage to get it's stock but not maxis.

You must understand that maxis is an official carrier

These sellers from Thailand , etc may buy in bulk when it comes and then they sell. Their bootrom , etc are old (which is good so that it can be jailbroken). Maxis has to get stock directly from Apple

the worldwide shortage is limited to units allocated to cellular carriers.

for outright (and unlocked) iPhones, you can find abundant of them in apple store, right here in australia.

crystal clear cut, legit and no hanky panky and direct from apple and an opportunity to extend the warranty via ACPP

In my case, they ask for the service card and the owner to claim the warranty.

I would advice who wanted to buy from somebody, make sure the iphone in a good condition and 100% functioning.

Other wise it's will make you headache.

i just don't understand why priority or more allocation was not given to cellular carriers. isn't is more profitable for apple since they also get a share of revenue from carriers.

i agree buying from apple store is better but it can only be purchased from australian store, still warranty does not apply in malaysia.

i just got to say that maxis is over using their right to sell iphone. They are selling iphone to company like toyota for toyota give out for free. And because of that end user like us who want to get 1 is not able to get 1.THis sucks

I guess the long waiting period is still on.

A friend of mine just got after waiting just a little over 30 days. With a plan too.

well i guess no point of us keep on bugging them bout when are you getting the phone..they have mismanage the distribution from the start but its not entirely their fault as i believe they do not expect the demand would be like this..so i guess we should just wait for the 30-45 days waiting period to be over then only we start bugging them..

not sure, how it works over in malaysia.

but over in australia, any iPhones coming out from the cellular carriers are locked to its respective networks (and they are experiencing delays)

i can only speculate that, allocating part number/model number to the networks require extra hassle to work with, mimicking a custom order?

besides, i was only suggestion the apple store, since you were looking at options from thailand. purchasing an iPhone from thailand doesn't warrant you with a warranty as well.

when i collect my phone, i came to know that the MEP or Maxis center depend where u buy your phone from are the ones that decide who to give the phone to when the stock arrives, so guys if u waited more than 30 days, give them a call, make noise, if not they might give the phone that is rightfully yours to some other ppl that bug them everyday. I got my phone through the hard way, calling the MEP and Maxis to check on the phone status, good luck.

Don't mean to split hair but isn't Toyota or any other organization end users as well as far as Maxis is concerned?

Just cancelled booking n get 200 deposit back...so dissapointed with maxis...NEVER deal with them...will buy it in Saudi Arabia..sooo suxx
