There was not enough stocks for the current market demand and Maxis has to resort to pre-booking for iPhone. That is actually fine for most people, but what makes people sad and angry with Maxis is the uneven distribution of the phone to people who pre-book it. Some gets it on the spot, some get it earlier, some get it incredibly late. 

I second that... That is why u must have few things in order first to fully utilize ur purchase of 3gs (for me at least):
1. A laptop/computer
2. Any type of internet connection e.g streamyx, broadband
3. Itunes giftcard seller contact (very2 important for u to buy an official apps, movies, songs from itunes/appstores)
4. Credit card (should u decide to buy without itunes gc)

You must give the Maxis service card to the purchaser but the phone ownership will not change in Maxis customer database. Some Maxis centers will require only the Maxis service card for warranty purposes but some also requires both the service card and the owner to present for warranty claim purposes.

apart from warranty, you might end up getting a locked set (claimed as an unlocked set), if you're weren't aware or have zero knowledge in determining the unlock status of the phone. on imitation iPhones, the difference are pretty obvious. a glance or flip though the whole OS is sufficient to differentiate both.

Maxis 3g in iPhone speed is ok now? Maxis 3g used to be suck for other mobile devices. Hope Digi and Celcom can enter iPhone business soon.
I will prefer to get a netbook for running mobile apps unless any company sponsored iPhone for me.
