First up was TheArmoury over at Landmark Building, Central. The shop reminds me of an old English clothing store. They do bespoke and off the rack suits, shoes accessories etc.
Worth a visit if you're looking for a pair of Carmina or St.Crispin's.

St.Crispin's (MTO about 2-3 months wait) However they were nice enough to offer free shipping

Just had to try on a pair of StCrispin. It fits so well and I was actually tempted.

There's another branch over at the Pedder Building, 3rd Floor. Just opposite LV (Landmark Building)

and more shoes

Another shop worth checking out is Tassels, again in Landmark and just a few stores next to TheArmoury.
They carry more shoes and a wider variety namely EdwardGreen, Crockett&Jones, Cheaneys, Alden, Bontoni and the other branch at Sogo carries Santoni, Barker and Loakes.

Love the Bontoni, reminds me of Santoni

I love shoes, esp nice classic shoes. I have and have been wearing this closed lace oxford brogues but recently im getting more annoyed everytime i try to fit them in. Not sure if it is meant to be that way being difficult to fit in and also i have been damaging the shoe as a result of that. Any other style recommendation for easy to wear on for daily usage guys?? Thanks.

1. Fit is subjective, but from my readings, properly fitting dress shoes should be snug so that is to be expected.

2. Use a shoe horn. Bending the heel counter will potentially damage the stiffener inside(typically made from cellastic) which your shoe will never recover from.

Definitely use a shoehorn, once the damage is done there's no going back. That's what happened to mine bangwall.gif

Visited Carmina at Perth, noticeable all the entry lines were made in China except those high end being made in Spain...

However there are smaller gentlemen atelier are stocking John Lobb and Alden's, but mostly in Ang Mo size.

*Note: I have wrongly mentioned Carmina. The shop I meant should be Florsheim.

Is that Carmina or Mermin? I thought Carminas are made in Spain?

Yeah Carminas are made in Spain. Meermins are made in China but finished in Spain if I remember correctly. I have two pairs of Carminas and one of Meermin. Carmina is a distinct step up in quality and finish from Meermin.

Just got my Navy suede Carmina string loafers last week. Finish is really good but slightly disappointed that the navy is really dark... almost black in certain lighting. I'm gonna put then under the sun and hopefully it lightens. Heh

My bad, it should be Florsheim. To do Carmina justice, I should pay a visit to WJ & Co soon.
