A feel-good and happy Friday! My second pair of GG. An Oxford classic cap-toe in Black (a must have in every gentleman's wardrobe but i know most members would not endorse this colour).

And, i thought i should also share my first Enzo Bonafe - well made hand-welted shoes (no gemming like GYW) from Bologna. Though i must say that i was not too please with the Lama calf - good supple material but too soft and easily creased for my liking.

Looks weird for both side?

Looks good! I thought of being a bit adventurous with shoe laces but not too sure of what would be the best and acceptable colour combinations other than the default one! Certainly, a good way to refresh the look of the shoes without burning a hole in one's pocket. In terms of lacing, i personally prefer the right shoe.

Fully agree with you. I really love the look of the button boots (not just EB, Fitzpatrick button boots are also nice!).

In fact, I did consider the button boots (+/- EUR150 more expensive) but decided not to for a few reasons (i) of course, more expensive.smile.gif ii) not sure how often i will be wearing boots considering the tropical climate. iii) the thought of buttoning the boots - a bit of a hassle, imho). Also, i was looking for a chukka boot (a few in my list earlier - CJ Brecon vs CJ Tetbury vs EB Chukka).

I have two questions that I hope to seek members' advice:

1. What is your take on Kiltie monk shoes? Do you think it's too conservative and outdated design for modern menswear?

2. If you are familiar with the Vintage Rioja colour of the Gaziano Girling (shade of burgundy and darker brown, i think - not an expert in colours of course): What would be the best wax and cream colour should be applied to the shoes? I was thinking of Saphir burgundy (08) or mahogany (09).

Thanks in advance for your views and opinions.

You could expect the following:

1. GST (6% of invoice price)
2. Handling charges (from DHL, Fedex or POS Malaysia) should you do not prefer to deal with at the KLIA yourself RM30
3. Bayaran EDI RM18
4. 6% on RM30+18 = RM2.88

Hope helpful. Others, feel free to share your experience.

Very nice pair of Lobbs. Wow you're on the roll man. notworthy.gif one high-end pair after another. How would you rate your GGs, Lobbs, EG and CJs?

Next up St Crispins, Vass, Berlutis or JL bespoke?

Just my 2 cents.

The best deals are still online. When you're in the UK, just try as many models in as many different Lasts as possible and note what fits and what doesn't (Last, Size, & Width).

My recommendations for UK brands that are not available/difficult to try for size/fit in Malaysia:
Crockett & Jones
Alfred Sargent
Trickers

Head to Jermyn Street if you're in UK. Plenty of choices/shops to check out.

Finally picked up the cloud grey Laughton from EG. I think I made a good choice smile.gif

Waiting patiently on my way home

Just a heads up if any of you are in UK. There's a programme called 'Inside the Factory' on BBC 2 which will be featuring Crockett & Jones tonight at 8:00pm GMT.
