QUOTE(zamorin @ Oct 8 2013, 03:28 PM) There's a shop in Damansara Jaya called Tailours (both taylor and cobbler shop) selling wooden shoe trees at $26. Thanks. Is it facing the construction site? Also, what should I look out for when buying these shoe trees? Does it have to fit into my shoes snug? I have a pair of shoe tree but when I insert in my shoes it feels pretty snug and seems to stretch my shoes lengthwise a little. |

I got a pair of leather shoes which has blake stitched leather sole. My bro asked me to add an extra sole on them but I'm not sure if I should do it.
I want to ask how is the sole added? Is it just glued on, stitched or nailed? If stitched/nailed wouldn't it damage the shoe itself plus if want to replace the sole it would create multiple holes on it, right? It looks something like this Also initially bought this to wear casually with jeans, but now I'm thinking it may be a little too dressy for that..Opinions? |

QUOTE(deriku @ Oct 9 2013, 12:18 AM) Yeah something like topy. Is it advisable for expensive shoes? They would have to scratch up the leather sole with sandpaper first right?Really? I think it might go well with navy/gray suits though. This post has been edited by nick67: Oct 9 2013, 09:42 AM |

QUOTE(zamorin @ Oct 9 2013, 10:14 AM) It is not facing the constructing site. It's facing outwards. Near to where the old Restaurant Lotus was. Same row as RHB Bank. The best is to take the shoe there and the cobbler will recommend the best fitting shoe-tree for you. Thanks. I think I roughly know where it is already. I have quite a few pairs I need to buy so it may be difficult to bring all the shoes over.Is the shoe tree the spring type or the solid metal type? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(deriku @ Oct 9 2013, 10:35 AM) I read that people topy their C&Js, Vass, EGs so why not. Just try to get a good one like Continental. The belief is that the topy will prolong the lifespan of the soles and act as an anti-slip layer. Ah I see. I think I may go ahead and topy them. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a better sole so I will consider Continental or any other better ones.Since those are derbies I would not pair them with formal wear. But I suppose it wouldn't look out of place (may even look good) in a room full of flat toe shoes. Actually thinking about it, I have no idea why I chose this pair. I was in a hurry because the shop was closing so I just picked them up. Should have gone with something black instead. I have very little clue on how to wear these style properly. Pretty out of my budget as well |

What brand of shoe polish should I look for for light tan leather shoes? Kiwi brown I think may be too dark for light tan..

QUOTE(deriku @ Nov 5 2013, 05:30 PM) Hmm, I went to the supermarkets where I usually buy kiwi brown/black but can't find light brown/neutral. Maybe there are other shops I should check out? I wouldn't mind buying a good quality one (or at least better than kiwi). Would you be able to recommend a brand/shop? |

QUOTE(rayng18 @ Nov 5 2013, 08:12 PM) Hmm, I must have missed it. I only saw brown and black (which I have bought). Didn't see any others. After googling around I'm thinking of trying saphir but not sure which place carries them. And also wondering if I should get reno/wax/cream. If anyone has experienced with this brand do let me know which has worked for you Apparently I may need both wax and cream? Some forums said both some say only one. Pretty confusing. What do you guys think about polishing leather shoes that are not shiny to begin with? Got a pair of casual wingtips which are not shiny when I bought them. Unsure if I should polish it to a shine.
Basically what I'm trying to ask is whether shining them would make them look "smarter" or less casual? This post has been edited by nick67: Nov 11 2013, 10:46 AM |

QUOTE(Jason @ Jan 10 2014, 12:12 PM) Maybe rich people got weird behaviour. Brand new RM2000, instantly get your new pair of shoes. Getting someone to bring your shoe to get it re-welted at the original factory RM2500, wait a week the fastest, they choose the latter. Maybe they wanna keep the patina they took so many years to develop? Or the insoles already mold to their feet? Or maybe got "kam ching". I don't understand cause I'm not rich yet. |

Guys is there anywhere in Malaysia we can get Dainite sole for our leather shoes? Or is the usual Vibram good enough for daily wear?
