A team head of 7 people, all junior to mid management people

Thanks. I'm being offered to be a team lead for a newly formed team of 2-3 contract staffs.
How much should I ask for this position? I'm new to team management and my salary is less than RM3k.

Sorry I can't really say. But if I would to guess, I would say 4k to 5k. Depends on your firm.

Its ok. Probably I'll ask for 4k... but I doubt my company is willing to give so much increment over my current pay... hmm let see how my HR going to offer me first...

Anyway, pay aside, need advice should I take up this role as team lead (probably with low pay) or move on to other companies (with better pay)?

Normally, company will offer 20-30% increase of your current salary. Company will only offer more offer if you can justify the reason. Mind to tell Team Lead in what team/sector?

Team lead in South Asia Customer Data Management team. I think this position will open up new opportunity for me to advance as people manager. But I also thinking to move on to other company to gain new exposure as I've been spending 3 years in current company and still in the same position.

most likely HR will pay base on current salary ... but you can ask for 5k since is TL position ... 5k for MNC is nothing actually ...

I'm a fresh graduate Diploma In Electronics Eng (Computer). So, what range of salary I can ask from them. I'm kinda not sure about it..

bro just ask for it !!! you will be surprise, some employer though your asking for 4k they might give you 5k. i've get to know a few when i got interviewed and got the offer letter previously. Was so surprise that there is indeed company which is willing to pay more than what you are expecting.

Just wait until I get their offer then I'll bargain with them. I have nothing to lose too since I'm looking for opportunities in other companies.

Those company have a range. So if you ask lower than that, they will revise to match up with their company's range. That usually happy to big co/ MNC co. They don't want you later found out the same staff you getting RM1-2k lower than them...

Yup, that is why always ASKING for something which is a must for you, not to mark up or anything. No point doing so, if you are so lucky to fall into a higher range of salary group you will rip the benefit.

I always believe in this probability. If you think you are asking too much, lets brake this down:
33.3% - Accepted with the expected Salary, 33.3% Being rejected for certain reason, 33.3% Negotiation. Thus i will stick to something expected rather than trying to adjust myself with what others is getting.
