@HellJoker,
If you're on the Maxis network and using a Maxis set without jailbreaking, U shouldn't have to tweak your phone to enable it to use data services (3G/EDGE/GPRS/HSDPA). Could it be the location you are at isn't 3G supported?

Even if you jailbreak, you don't need to tweak anything to enable data usage. Just turn on from the Settings menu like how you do it normally.

mine is SG set jailbreaked, but i dun think jail break is an issue.
hmm..bout 3g coverage, any way to chk the 3g signal?
coz when i turn on 3g, it will have a 3g logo on top left of the phone, then when i try to surf in safari the unable to connect error msg came out. =(

Did you try in different areas? Sometimes you can get the 3G signal but there's no connection to the internet. It's just like you being able to capture Wifi signal but that's only from the point of your device to the Wifi access point. What happens from the Wifi access point to outside world (Internet) is a different case.

I've experienced cases where I can see 3G signal but I can't surf the net or check my mails, etc. The reason is because there were network disruptions after calling Maxis. Unless you're saying everywhere you go is the same then that's a different story. Also, try using EDGE to see if it works.

My Iphon is the classic 2G type and i have been facing this issue lately.

Last time when i plug in my iphone to my computer with the connecting cable, the itune and a auto pop up box will detect the folder which contain the pictures in my iphone. But lately when i plug-in the cable, itune still appear but the folder box no longer appear. This is trouble because i normally transfer the pictures from my iphone to my laptop using this method. Now i dont know how to transfer it.
Can someone please give me some advise how to make the folder pop up again.

3G and EDGE are both data services except 3G is faster. Have you checked out the other thread to see if it could be because you need to create a profile for Maxis?

i encountered this before.

try uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling again. if that fails, you may have to restore your iPhone as a new phone (last resort, but it worked for me)

the same for me as well. the pop-up didn't appear on both my PC and MAC and hence restoring the iPhone was the last resort.

Guys, anyone of you faces Wifi auto disconnects while in sleep mode problem? I tried resetting network but still won't work. As long as sleep mode begins, regardless whether got activity not (eg downloading), the wifi just auto disconnects in a minute or so. FYI, mine is 3gs OTB 3.1, just updated to 3.1.2. Reason i did the update bcoz tot this was another bug of OS3.1.

Appreciate any help!
