@DrOzzz, I've no idea what the problem is but your phone should NOT shut off halfway when you're on a call unless you're out of battery. I don't believe you're able to downgrade from 3.0.1 but if yours is considered DOA (Dead On Arriva) unit, U will certainly get a replacement unit.
@derekwg, Chrome part scratched? Er scratch like how?! If it's very minor then just leave it lah - did u put it into some sort of tight fitting casing?

@ffmichael, For problem 1, U will need to disable APN. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/868281 For problem 2, U will need to wait for someone else who can help U out

@megatron007, Your data usage on Internet Tethering is combined under Cellular Network Data. @myhemay, This problem of "call dropping" is something a friend complained. The solution was to change his SIM card to a 64k card. Apparently the other SIM cards are just not so compatible. I haven't faced this issue before but can understand how irritating it can get

@rip_code, What'd U mean by cannot use 3G at all? All I know is that my friend had problems with his line dropping all the time. He went into Maxis and they gave him a new SIM card (64k). Now he has stopped complaining of his line dropping.

@rip_code, There's been a couple of forummers who's reported Maxis changed their SIM cars to 64k cards. Perhaps your 128kb SIM doesn't work too well with the iPhone? *shrugs*

@rip_code, I've just double checked with a friend; he apparently had issues with "call dropping" - Maxis issued him a new card and his new SIM card is the 129k card. *Edited* 128k SIM card, not 129k This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Oct 4 2009, 06:04 PM

@Edoras, I'm on an officially unlocked set and am using Maxis as my provider. Am sending this post via Internet Tethering via USB. It looks like it's working on my end. It also works on BT

@Edoras, Unfortunately I don't have any non Maxis SIM cards at home to test it on. Looks like U need to get someone else to confirm Internet Tethering availability on non Maxis networks.

@bpk16, iPhone is like any other phone. U can use it with any plan, but to purchase it on an outright purchase via the prepaid option is not an option at the time being. @jackdon, If you're on Maxis, Internet Tethering is still a-ok

@jackdon, In that case, go ahead to enjoy your Internet Tethering. I gave it a test just the other day so basically can confirm that it still works lah

@Kyoshiro, I've no idea what Maxis' policies are but I know of people who's gotten replacement sets from the Apple Store due to cracks. Best is if you go back to claim the warranty ASAP but even then I don't think you'll get a replacement unit on the spot; apparently a fellow forummer here who had some issues with his i3GS had to wait almost 6 weeks before he got his faulty set replaced by Maxis.

@fuiyo, I had "No Service" twice after I updated the software but I put the phone in airplane mode and when I got out of it everything was fine. @ymchow, Maxis should allow you to make the claim if you've got the service card. Go to another place until U find one that will do it for u. What is wrong with her phone btw? @pizza0502, Thanks! Am gonna download it but have absolutely NO idea for what - i think it'll just be easier to use Photoshop on a proper computer @ASAP, Is this call failed message something new after the FW 3.1.2 update or it's been something that's happening since U got the iPhone 3GS? If it's something that's been happening since u got the iPhone 3GS, go check if your SIM card is compatible. A couple of people have reported this issue and had their SIM cards replaced and their problem was fixed

@teniqcnerd, I don't think many can help you re your iPhone clone. Most, if not ALL of us here use the original sets and we definitely do not encourage the purchase of clone sets.
Best is for u to check with the people who sold u the phone.
@rip_code, 10 sec call drop? So meaning if I'm having a conversation with U, i need to limit it to 10 sec?!

@NV20, Your iPhone screen capture will be in your Pictures folder. Just import that when you connect your iPhone to PC and you'll haf it migrated to ur PC @rip_code, Perhaps U could try changing ur Celcom SIM card @ASAP, No it's not a common problem around here. Haf you perhaps tweak or done something to ur phone? Please give us ALL details needed as per Post #1. And please, do not keep asking the same question over and over again on the same thread.

@Ijan74, Disabling EDGE as in, amending the APN protocols is it? I noticed on the i3G when you do something with the APN, U will need to start your phone for it to work. However, calls can still be received. At least this happened to me before.
@ASAP, As we've mentioned, do some troubleshooting and report back when U've done it. Have U oredi gone to Maxis and got them to give U a new SIM card?
