i am wondering how long does blackra1n jb process takes

mine still in the picture mode - waited 15min

and mine originally 3.0.1, so should i update using restore to 3.1.2 first then oni use blackrain?

help pls

it says firmware file not compatible
darn weird. guess i will redownload the ipsw and retry tomorrow

I tried out just.... and also got the same error same as you have.
I noticed that, during entering DFU mode, I think you were not doing it correctly.

You have to got the "DFU Successful" message in PwnageTools, then you will able to restore your custom firmware without having the error anymore.

will i able to jailbreak using blackra1n if i upgrade my 3gs using itunes to FW 3.1.2 ?? or i need to upgrade it using custom firmware?

If you iphone is unlocked, yes... and you can use either blackra1n (Windows) or Pwnage v3.1.4 (Mac) to JB.

No need for manual mod for afc2, just install afc2add in cydia. It will enable back the use of ifunbox @ iphonebrowser.

SBSettings compatible with JB v3.1.2 ? why I got the crashed sbsettings during restart of iphone. Even I reboot springboard it doesn't help at all. Any idea ?

im using iphne 3g ( bought from US ) with 3.1 firmware which ive downloaded thru itunes.. ( damn stupid )
and.. latest baseband 5.09
does tis mean i still cant unlock it??
can i send to maxis to unlock ??
or plaza lowyat ?

Nope. there is no solution yet to unlock for FW 3.1 for those locked unit iphone.

actually, when i was using the pwnagetools, after the completion of the building of customised ipsw, it says plug in the iphone.
when i plug it in, nothing happen, the screen just stuck there, then my itunes go do it's sync n stuff but the pwnagetools just stuck there

and i suppose i need to update my phone into 3.1.2 using itunes to use the blackra1n

zzz.. after u done with pwnage tools.. plug in ur phone.. open itunes.. close pwnage tools.. on itunes
it will say dat ur phone is in recovery mode.. hold alt button and click restore ( on mac ) / hold ctrl button and click restore ( on windows )
then browse the custom .ipsw that u just create it.. then click ok..

actually i did, but when it comes to the point i click alt restore, it says my ipsw is invalid. Thats all.....

have u follow the instruction given in iclarified....iclarified 3gs pwnage mac

like I said earlier, that error comes out because you are not actually entering into DFU Mode in Pwnage successfully.
I did come across this error also just now... but once I redo the entering DFU method, it works flawlessly.

It has nothing wrong with your custom firmware. Or if you do really suspect your custom firmware is invalid then recreate a new one
by doing all the steps again as listed in iClarified guide.

i followed, but its stuck at the plug in the phone part, so the payload wasnt uploaded i suppose

now downloading fresh ipsw, trying it tomorrow as my mac is in the office

Need fast answer. On the verge of updating my missus Iphone 3G New Zealand Vodafone set to 3.1.2 from 3.0. Should be OK rite as this is official unlocked set. After upgrade, then do blackra1n rite? SHould work rite. Sifus, pls confirm ASAP. Thanks
My own Maxis 3G-S already upgraded and JB. No issue.

just make sure ur iphone turn off...hold home button and plug in the usb cable to ur phone(dont release home button until the itunes and usb appears)...and then used the ipsw that u create earlier to restore ur phone.
