Guys, anyone of you faces Wifi auto disconnects while in sleep mode problem? I tried resetting network but still won't work. As long as sleep mode begins, regardless whether got activity not (eg downloading), the wifi just auto disconnects in a minute or so. FYI, mine is 3gs OTB 3.1, just updated to 3.1.2. Reason i did the update bcoz tot this was another bug of OS3.1.

Appreciate any help!

@voodoo8808,
On a non-JB iPhone, when the phone goes to sleep, everything turns off, just like when you put a computer to sleep.  It's not a bug, it's been like this ever since I started using the i3G.

tinkerbel, after much observation, i realised when plugged in, wifi wouldn't auto disconnect. Can anyone confirm this is a default? Btw, regardless JB-ed or not, it's the same.

@voodoo8808,
What'd u mean by when plugged in?  AFAIK as long as the phone is asleep, everything is turned off; whether it's plugged into a power source supply unit or not.

Gosh...mixed up of terms, tinkerbel. My 'Sleep' mode actually meant 'Standby' mode (screen goes blank into energy saving, not turned off completely). sweat.gif

Hope this clarifies. cheers

my gps seems not working. i tried standing in the open, day, night & usual spot where i get fastest locking, but no avail. I hav tomtom, igo, googlemap, sygic, ndrive but all these can't lock despite trying the abovesaid.

i restarted iphone, & reset network settings oso same.

Is there a way or app to diagnose whether gps chip gone faulty?

setup: i3gs, 3.1.2 fw, JBed.

reboot means just off it lo...press power button for 5 secs, when prompted, slide screen to turn off. press again power button to on it again. that's reboot, the normal way.
