Ya i hang it at the ceiling but have to look for good bracket to hold the spk if not bookself spk is quuet heavy. Any recommendation for the bracket. The bracket from one end is screw to the ceiling n another to the spk.

This one from Monitor Audio looks nice:

Just wondering without atmos audio, the ceiling speakers are not used then?

Currently on 5.1 on yammy A2040. Am thinking of either going 7.1 or 5.1.2. Which would be better?

Seeing that there are only a few sources for atmos, I think maybe the better choice is to go surround. Unless the overhead speakers can be use as surround as well.

Its individual preference.. thou' l suspect , eventually all new AVR's will come with ATMOS [ New DTS-equivalent, too ??? ] n l also see tat it will be customisable - meaning .. you can wire it up or not [ just straight 5.1/7.1 ]

I personally dont hear much diff in de theaters ATMOS presentation vis-a-vis regular surround but then its just me..

I would recommend you try out first before deciding as buying/setting up such a system is not cheap or easy unless you really want it..

It is my impression that using Atmos supported BD and using speaker settings such as 5.x or 7.x, sound would still be better than Dolby TrueHD (or maybe DTS-HD MA) even though your receiver is non-Atmos. At least this is what I'm experiencing with movies that are Atmos but my receiver is not (receiver showing True-HD). Am I right or not? If, I'm right, perhaps not getting systems that support 5.x.x or 7.x.x (Atmos receiver) is still okay as I don't see myself putting ceiling speakers in the future.

I tink if ur rcvr is not ATMOS then u r getting tru hd only.. its not enhanced in anyway - its bckwrd compatible .. but mixed into de rear surrs.. kinda like if you hv 5.1 but ur disc is 7.1 - u get d 4 surr channels mixed into 2..
