I already following government's advise on cutting cost of living.
So no DVD5/9, just download whistling.gif
Are those encoded in PCM/LPCM like you say? Nobody will knows sweat.gif
This is like chasing shadow game, getting something that we don't require rclxub.gif
*
those downloaded mkv or whatsoever format still comes with AC3 5.1 (Dolby Digital 5.1)
no streaming or downloaded material will use PCM/LPCM as it take up huge bandwidth, so you will still be using a very standard surround mixes by either Dolby/DTS icon_rolleyes.gif

also, for someone mentioning Dolby Atmos / DTS:X / AURO 3D as additional discrete audio channel, that is incorrect, as the new format is mixed using an object based mix and the sound output will depend on how many speakers you installed in your system and not like if you don't have rear speakers then the rear sound will go missing

Try go to those showroom with Atmos setup and listen by yourself then only decide if you can here the different. icon_rolleyes.gif

Some, but not all flex.gif
As for testing, we should go for AB blind test to verify is Atmos really good whistling.gif
I'll be using my 5007's last 2 channel to fire downward from ceiling cool.gif

5007? Marantz?

If it is Marantz SR-5007, connect the rear speaker output and place the spk in ceiling firing down does not make atmos run as it need a newer AVR which can decode the extra layer of atmos info that being added to the primary Dolby TrueHD layer

If you just use the rear spk out to firing down from ceiling, you are merely let the audio of the rear surround to sound from the ceiling, which will be weirdly sound sweat.gif

Mounting speaker in the ceiling and using 5.1 or 7.1 does not make it into atmos. This is like hanging up your current rear speaker to the ceiling.

i guess your sub has a reflex port?
sometimes it may need reverse 180 phase to correct it back

I am looking to buy a RX V477 and asking around. The price I can get here in KL is about RM1580 to RM1700. This amp is made in Malaysia and I found overseas are selling much cheaper than us. China is selling RMB2200, with their 17% GST, Amazon is selling USD200. Anyone know what is the reason?
