Yeah that is the only way.  SC only can change the mainboard to solve the problem.

Sometime such protection circuit got to do with the power problem from tnb. Incoming high voltage, surge current, lightning, dust etc. It will prompt to act to protect further damage to your unit.

Don't forget to ask the SC what problem when collect the unit.

For those who owns A2040, do you feel a mild electronic shock whenever you touch any metal parts when the AVR is on?

Most AV amps do have such problem when your main earthing have problem.
The best is add a ground for your AVR.

Lucky thing is under warranty. I hope all will be well after this repair

True,

But given hindsight, I would prefer it not being spoilt at all - de dwntime n not to mention de hooking and unhooking de in'connects n cables alone scares me..

QUOTE(ktek @ Mar 11 2015, 08:05 PM)
i never have avr failure yet, from yamaha (2009) to marantz (2005) and marantz (2013) again. all of them still working
got a friend's pioneer vsx523 spoiled just a few days
*
Lets see, my Panny digital avr died on me - at least its digital connexion did - analog still ok - weird
My ol Marantz dpl avr went on for at least 4 yrs n then I upgrd to de 4200 n tat went on for anthr 3/4 yrs n upgrdd again to pioneer 911 , which l m still using in a secondary system - n now, latest Marantz 7002 - hmmnn l tink abt 4 yrs now - touch wood - still goin strong....

To me, reliability n durability is important - I wont touch any brands tat has bad rep for tat..

According to the sc the main board is dead. Why the board is dead. No idea. Had been using the AVR with power conditioner but I guess again is unlucky

It is a stabilizer?

I have 3 of it. And I throw it away already. It cause some sort of very short trip/jump voltage sometime. I guess due to lifespan.

I not sure still can get it. I have this cap for nob which come in different size. Just cap those no use. After many yrs, when I take it out, the nob still look like new.

But I have no idea where to get it anymore. Cause brought over 10yrs ago.
