Is the network you are connecting allow you to access it? Does it use any security like WPA or WEP?

My home network only allow certain MAC address to access wirelessly with it. I don't use any WEP or WPA too. And I can connect to Internet no problem :-)

I was running through my phone bill yesterday... Only to realize that Magic is sending out 3KB of data every 5 minutes...

...which in Malaysia, it is a huge amount at the end of the month...

I don't know where can get a replacement batt for Hero. I'm looking for it too :-)

Tried several shops at LYP, they don't have it. Maybe I should shoot some emails to SiS and HTC Malaysia for info.

I wonder is this hero bulky?
becoz from the curvy design and it seems the phone is not slim enough for us to keep in the pocket...

kindly give me some suggestion, becoz i'm looking in this phone.
And are u guys get it from celcom that come with the 148 package?

Thank you very much.

B4 this I thought im able to get the digi promotion rm99 Blackberry + rm 58 montly plan.... but.. FAIL sad.gif ... so currently looking for alternatives other than blackberry...

Was looking at HTC touch pro 2 a little while ago.. but d price are too scary & it remain scary after few months & i See a lot of good review on HTC Hero.. some even says could keep up or even beat I phone. So perhaps I will get Hero + android a try.. I have been using WM on 02 mini for years... i guess should give other system a try.

But currently my major concern is the CONNECTIVITY... Do you guys sign up Plan for Unlimited 3G data? Or just rely on Starbuck/ home wifi? or EDGE?? I have been quite outdated & i oways hoping that I can Online anywhere I go. Fb /chatting/ check mail/ surfnet at any place i want.

What is the best affordable data Plan so far? Im using Digi & i really wish to stick with my Number. But digi doesnt seem to provide any promo for the HTC Hero... Looking at Blue Cube they have HTC Hero but the montly plan is kinda expensive... rm 90+?? is there no other alternatives? nod.gif Pls share what's yours.

You might want to directly ask Celcom/Maxis/DiGi is you wanted to know about data plan & rates. I believe that's the best way to educate ourself about those things.

naTTan,

I removed (according to Paul's features list):
1. Jbed Java
2. Notes app from Dragon
3. android-wifi-tether 1.60 pre3
4. Andrew Schwimmer's WiFi Status indicator

All HTC default apps are intact. I might go another round and replace Peep with TwitterRide. Mostly because Peep's bland interface and icon.

Edit: OK I removed Peep completely by adb shell rm /system/app/*Twit* as suggested by Paul.

Update: OK this maybe just a placebo. I feel my Hero is faster without Peep and its widget. And I saw this

guess what, i did call them before i post here.
but they themselves also cant let me know clearly.
thus, im asking any user here have this experience.

that's the most worried thing with celcom is their staff that working in both blue cube and celcom are really not in standard. sweat.gif

i check with both digi and celcom,
Digi offer digi50 plan and HTC phone is onli HTC touch dual for 699 ori price is 1099
no other data plan needed.

for celcom,
they have alot of HTC phone with blue cube.
including hero for 1799.

but need to sign the contract for exec 50 + data plan for 98.
the worst thing is the data plan(braodband).

i ask celcom but they are not telling clearly.
might need to call blue cube and check whether can exclude the data plan and still get the phone for promotion price or not.
