As I said.. you will need to set the APN settings... refer to your own telco website for the settings.

Looks like HTC is cooking eclair for us, Hero owner... rclxms.gif

"Yes, we are working on an Eclair update for the HTC Hero. Because Eclair is a significantly enhanced release, it will require some time to update Sense for this new version of the Android OS. Please be patient while we work to provide you with a tightly integrated experience like the one you are already enjoying on your Hero."

Its just a matter of time now.. brows.gif

Hi there,

I assume u have SlideME on ur phone. For file explorer u can search in the SlideME market for ES File Explorer or AndExplorer and for apps installation u can also use the ES File Explorer or try to search for SlideME App Installer. All of these are free apps.

You can also go straight to SlideME website to dload the apps mention above but u must have an 'app installer' 1st before u can install the dloaded .apk file.

Added on October 27, 2009, 5:30 pmI tried, once again the system required me to put in a CD to the CD rom.

SOrry if you've already solved the problem.

I wrote the solution also for it here too
http://techiedan.com/2009/10/28/htc-hero-l...vers-usb-modem/

But in other words, I find that you don't have the drivers for it, there are 2 links over there either the 32 bit or the 64 bit. So choose your driver wisely

Try clearing you cache, especially browser and stuff. Those are still left in the main memory.

true, google maps doesnt navi. free gps always has its limitation, that why im using papago x5 v2.0 with MFM maps.
the 3D navigation really impress me, 360degree maps rotation, 6language voice selection [ madarin/hakka/hokkien/cantonese/english/malay] satellite fix took only 15sec.
