here's some food for thought. halfway through my holiday i got sick of taking photos and looking through a lens, and decided to leave the camera in the hotel room for the rest of the trip, and enjoying the sights with my own eyes.

=p i hope none of us here take DSLR's with us if we ever go on a holiday with our partners.

just saying.

If you obsess yourself with taking shots, then sure thing. Things have to be in moderation.

It doesn't mean that bringing a camera along on your trip = looking at everything through a viewfinder.

Who said you have to take a shot of everything?

I would like to try some constant aperture lens coz i like to shoot in low light conditions.. might add an external flash also if budget permits.. Hehe..

That's my point. i was obsessed and forgot how to simply enjoy sights. everything i saw... i tried hard to figure out angles, composition... it got exhausting.

I agree that it's all in moderation.

Just saying.

agree.
but there is one thing i dont really like
if you are out in a group for vacation or any outing
and you are the only one having dslr
your pic will be 20% and theirs will be 80%

Haha Ive been known as the non-human photographer when I travel, so people dont ask me to take their shots. They have their own PnS to do so tongue.gif

The point of a vacatino is to enjoy it ma smile.gif Not worry about what kind of shots you get. The only thing I try to chase now is sunset and sunrise tongue.gif Provided I am hardworking enough hahaha

Usually I go vacation with my partner, it'll be my DSLR and my tripod and the two of us. I mostly take pics of us for memories. And usually never pics that don't have us inside. tongue.gif

Btw, I'm a D90 user too. My first post in the thread I believe. biggrin.gif

i agree too, taking photograph has to be moderate. it really irritates seeing the same guy taking pics non stop since beginning till the end (addition: bursting) in any occasion doh.gif
flash also is kinda irritating in halls and dark places. few is ok... non stop is doh.gif
